Question : Do woman's wedding bands need to be wider than men's?
Or does it even matter in this age? My mom tells me traditionally they have to be larger than the man's ring.

Question : Does a man's wedding band HAVE to match the bridal set?
Are there any rules around the man's wedding band matching the woman's bridal set? Does it matter?
Answer:
No. It's up to him to decide what he will be happy wearing the rest of his life. It usually looks better if they are the same color metal, but even that's not a rule. My wedding band is a very petite antique platinum and diamond eternity band. It's only 2.5mm wide and I can't think of a better way to describe it, but the metal "conforms" around each diamond with a hexagon. It looks like the diamonds are floating almost, and is lovely on my hand and doesn't get in my way because it's small and flat. Something that small would look stupid on my husbands finger though. His band is much bigger, and is made up with "squares" with 4 princess cut diamonds across the top (one in a square). It goes well with my band, but doesn't match exactly and is much more masculine. I don't feel the need to have a match match set. I don't like big, and his hands are huge so they need big. It's all an individual preference, and you should each select what you like best.

Question : i want to sell my wedding dress & wedding ring set, how should i do it?
i have a nice wedding dress embroidered with beads & pearls, very pretty, and also a set of rings (man's, petit engagement, and wedding band, all with small diamonds in the band) but the women's wedding band was cut off my finger by the paramedics. i want to sell them all, as i have been divorced, but not sure what the best course of action would be. i'm sure i should get the dress cleaned (but it's not stained or anything), but should i get the ring repaired or sell 'as is'? and where would be the best place to sell them each?
Answer:
Well defiantly get the ring fixed or take it to a jeweler and see if they will buy both of them...sometimes they will buy it as is., you'd just have to ask them. For the dress they have consignment shops. EBay is nice and all, but you can't try it on, with consignment shops the lady interested can try it on, with a consignment shop they put it on sale for you.

Question : Wedding band purpose!?
I've noticed that a lot of women's wedding rings come with two rings, the main one and a band, What is the purpose of the Band? (other than accenting the main ring) is it part of a process?
Answer:
When a guy proposes he proposes with the engagement ring. When he walks down the aisle at the point of saying ‘I do’ he gives his gal the wedding band. She gives her man a wedding band too. This is the point where the two of you exchange wedding bands – one for the man and one for the lady.Good Luck!

Question : OK, what do you think of this mens wedding bands? Too feminine, too anything?
I am purchasing my fiance his wedding ring for Valentines, since we are getting married soon, but it's a surprise. I have no problem with the size, but I'm not sure what to get. In general, do these look too much like women's rings? Do they even look like wedding rings? Which one do you like? I can't afford much, so I can't just get anything. I think I like the third the best, but I just needed some general opinions and/or advice. I haven't decided between the three. Thanks very much!http://www.flickr.com/photos/22977321@N06/If you pick one you like, could you please tell why, if you have a reason? Thanks, I appreciate it!If you pick one you like, could you please tell why, if you have a reason? Thanks, I appreciate it!
Answer:
When I bought my husband's band, I really took into consideration his style. So with that said, are any of the one's you showed us, your fiance's "style?" Do you think he would want to wear any of them on a daily basis? If he is a jeans and t-shirt kind of guy...he would probably want to wear something a little simpler. If he likes a little "flair" then these are great. You mentioned that you're on a budget...have you thought about buying tungsten over gold or platinum to keep costs down? Tungsten is a very hard metal that is difficult for men to scratch and dent. It's also only a semi-precious metal, and is considerably less expensive. Tungsten also comes in every style imaginable. Also here's something else I read...Unlike gold and silver, Tungsten Carbide alloy is hypoallergenic and non-reactive to salt water, chlorine, detergents, alkaloids, or body acids!!. This means they will not react with any part of the body, making them a great choice for even those who are most sensitive to other materials. And this will never tarnish!Because none of us know your fiance, we can only make suggestions based on our own preference. I personally don't care for any of the ones you picked so far...but maybe your fiance will love them. Who am I to make the call? Here are a couple that I think look "masculine" and like a wedding band. Good luck!

Question : Ar there any women out there who wear Tungsten Carbide wedding rings?
Or just plain tungsten or titanium----basically any other metal besides the usual three suspects: yellow gold, platinum, and white gold. If so, what did you choose and why? Is there an unspoken no against wedding bands for women in any but the above three metals? For those who have Tungsten rings---are they heavy? Women's bodies change throughout the month, has any monthly bloating affected your ability to wear the ring(I've heard they have to be "dead on" in terms of sizing)
Answer:
Tungsten is a little heavy for a womans ring. I think platinum is the best for a woman. You can also have the exact sizing done once you give it to her, they will never be dead on, for instance, mine fits different in the summer verses the winter.Another thing you might want to know about tungsten is if you are wearing this ring and are ever in an accident, your finger swells. The ring can not be cut off. The same thing goes for titanium.

Question : Where can I find a 10kt white gold woman's wedding band under $50?
I just want a simple band. Some of you are very rude and your comments are NOT appreciated! For those who are really trying to help me out, THANK YOU very much. I guess you people forgot that times are hard! And a ring is just a piece of metal, price doesn't represent how much my fiance loves me.
Answer:
Kay Jewelers has one for about $35.When I got married (unfortunately didn't work out) this is the ring I chose. We could have afforded a more expensive one and even looked at ones full of diamonds but I liked the simple, plain one and I thought it even looked nicer. More $$ and diamonds is not necessarily better, even if you can afford it. To me, the small plain band was classy and timeless. Nothing wrong at all with a ring like that!! Congrats on getting married!!

Question : What should a woman's wedding band look like?
So I got a nice engagement ring that has three diamonds on it in a row. My fiance and I will be looking at wedding bands this weekend but I'm not sure what would look right. I want to continue to wear my engagement ring with my wedding band. Should I get a plain white gold band or will it be ok to get a band with diamonds going around the ring or just in front, or will that be too much? My engagement didn't come in a set so I'm not sure what kind would look good with it.
Answer:
I was a jeweler for a few years. This is a question I was asked at least 3 times a week. the best answer is try on any band that you see and like. You will eventually find one that you love. Don't buy it, if you don't love it, or before you shop around some. There is no way it should look. It is okay to have a plain band, or one with diamonds or even a solid band with a textured finish, or matte, or pave, or smooth. Its your wedding band, so it should be what you love. Congrats on getting married!

Question : When exchaging rings during the wedding ceremony, what is done with the woman's engagement ring?
Is there a "rule" on what a woman does with her engagement ring ... when the engagement ring/wedding ring are a set? Does the groom slip both rings on during the ceremony? Or does she wear the engagement ring and gets the wedding ring slipped on by itself?Or does she keep her finger bare and just get the wedding band slipped on during the ceremony (and put her engagement ring back on later)?
Answer:
If you are not going to have the rings attached together, then keep your ring finger bare for your wedding. If you're going to have them attached get that done BEFORE the wedding so that the rings are now one ring and go on together. The wedding band should always be on the inside (closest to your body/heart). The engagement ring goes on the outside -- so if you leave it ON during the wedding you'll have to take both back off right away again to get them on correctly.

Question : Women's opinions on Weddings & Wedding Rings.?
I have a co-worker that has been married for many years. She is in her early 50's & very flirty. She very rarely wears her wedding ring & says its no big deal. She had an office affair years ago & I want to know from a females perspective: Is the Wedding & the Ring the major big deals to women. Most men could get married at the courthouse & be ok with it & most could care less about the wedding band that they receive. I think the co-worker is on the prowl & would cheat again if she could get away with it again. I don't want anything to do with her from anything more than a friendship standpoint I just want to hear from other ladies to hear if she is making excuses on why she isn't wearing the ring & the wedding issue.
Answer:
wearing the ring does not mean cheating. Some just don't like to wear jewelry or have jobs where it isnt appropriate to wear them.
