Question : Do women think too much about engagement rings?
Do women think too much about engagemnet rings? Are we in a way, 'processed' to believe that when we get engaged, our fiance should give us a nice, big diamond ring?My cuz got married last year and he gave his wife a nice, small diamond ring that cost less than a $100. But she was happy cause shes not the materialistic type & they really love each other (have a son now)....my other cuzin, his BROTHER, got married over the summer and he gave his wife a three-stone $5,000+ ring and she's the materialistic type so she was all happy and she also grew up learning from her sisters/aunts/mom that a guy shows u love thru jewelry which is so stupid..The point is that i'm only a teenager and culutrally i know i am to get married in the next 5-6 years and I feel so greedy saying this but i always think of the ring...now guyz in my religion are kinda air heads and wouldn't know of the type of ring to get a girl and would get me a small one. am i thinking too much about this and shouldn't? :0
Answer:
Part of it is materialistic, but part of it is the symbolism. This is a ring that the bride will wear for the rest of her life - the man is asking her to commit herself - body, heart and soul - to him for the rest of her life. Many women want to know that the man put real thought and sacrifice into his choice - we want to know we were worth that. That may be different for different poeple depending on their lifestyles and wealth levels. For some people, a hundred dollars for a ring is already a financial sacrifice. For others, it would be just a drop in the bucket. A ring with a value that represents a financial sacrifice/investment on the man's part shows the women that he loved her and wanted to be with her so badly that he was willing to get her the best he can afford.

Question : Investment Stone For Necklace; Spinel, Ruby, Sapphire- Which to pick?
I am looking to purchase a stone to go in a gold necklace for my girlfriend. I am not looking for the average. I am looking for a stone guaranteed to increase in value. I am not looking at fancy diamonds because i am thinking of getting her a pink diamond as an engagement ring when we get there...I have narrowed it down to3.03cts SI1 Pink Spinel = Price C$ 4242.00 http://rocksdiamonddeals.net/Shop_RocksDiamondDeals.php?view=productPage&product=215&category=341.20 cts SI1 Untreated Blue Sapphire = Price C$ 4320.00(Certificate: COA; Est. Retail Replacement Value of $10,080)http://rocksdiamonddeals.net/Shop_RocksDiamondDeals.php?view=productPage&product=398&categor y=17.95cts SI2 CERTIFIED Untreated Ruby = Price C$ 9870.00 http://rocksdiamonddeals.net/Shop_RocksDiamondDeals.php?view=productPage&product=308&category=21Spin el InformationSpinel is a special gemstone in many ways. For centuries it was mistaken for ruby and gained undeserved fame. Today fine red spinel is more rare than ruby but less valuable.Although commonly thought of as red, spinel can be found in a range of beautiful pastel shades.Of particular interest is a vivid hot pink with a tinge of orange that is mined in Burma that is one of the most spectacular gemstone colors in any gem species. Spinel also comes in beautiful blues, which are sometimes called cobalt spinel, but these are rare.Large stones (2.5cts-3+cts) are very rare and star spinels are very rare.Sapphire InformationSapphire is very rarely found, making it much rarer then the diamond, hence the market price for this stone is on the rise. It's safe to invest in a untreated sapphire as there sure to be value add to this stone. There is a difference in price among sapphires depending on the colour quality, whether its treated or untreated, carat size, shine and brilliance. Though the most popular color is blue and pink the choice of colour is a personal choice and with sapphire you can find them in many colours.Almost all (99%) Sapphire on the market is routinely treated with 'heat' to enhance and stabilize the colour. The typical heat treatment process is a permanent process and it does not normally adversely affect the performance, and durability of the gem, but in recent years demand for natural non-heated non-treated top quality Sapphire has caused these gems to command a somewhat higher premium, depending on the gem. For those who prefer a pristine gemstone that has not been "enhanced", there is an ever-decreasing supply of untreated gems.Untreated gems are rare and likely to become more treasured for the rarity that they represent.Ruby InformationRubies are rare to begin with, and large, flawless ones are even more valuable than the very best diamonds. Since rubies are a Clarity Category 3 gemstone, they invariably carry some inclusions, or other materials caught inside the gemstone as the ruby formed around them. A ruby without any inclusions would be priceless. A ruby with only microscopic inclusions is very rare and valuable.Rubies are not generally very large, so their value increases with their weight. A ruby larger than 3 carats is very rare, and the 27.37 carat stone auctioned by Sotheby's in 1999 is probably the only one of such size discovered to date. The larger the ruby, the more rare it is.There are three types of ruby treatments available in the jewellery market:UntreatedIn the jewelry industry, it is assumed that rubies have been heat treated unless otherwise specified. These untreated stones are rarely encountered as only a handful of rubies in the world are untreated. Large, clear rubies of good color that are untreated command extremely high prices and can only be found in the most expensive jewelry stores. When you see this word in a jewelry description, you can know that you’re seeing something rare (depending on the stone). If you see an “untreated” ruby for sale, it will be extremely valuable and expensive. Untreated rubies are almost always very included (unless they are in museums or with 6 digit price tags). Colour is a ruby's most important feature. Its transparency is only of secondary importance. An untreated ruby is very rare, and an untreated stone with only minimal inclusions is more remarkable yet.Top quality untreated rubies are so rare even the world's top gem dealers must incessantly comb estate sales and auctions to find them. Sizes above 3 carats are particularly rare. Almost all rubies are treated because most have inclusions. Treating the blemishes allows supply to keep up with demand. As a result, untreated rubies are usually museum-quality. Top dealers search for them, but few are available.Conventional Heat Treatment and Fissure Filling or Glass Filling are the other ruby treatments,I am out of room...So hopefully you can help me narrow it down...

Question : How much would the resale value be for this ring? Need MONEY.. And no use for the ring anymore = divorce! lol?
How much would the resale value be for this ring? It is in mint condition, but it was a gift so I obviously can't take it back. It is from Helzberg diamonds. He paid $699.99 for it and it has not gone down on price. GO TO THE WEBSITE AND CHECK IT OUT!http://www.helzberg.com/product/jewelry/rings/three-stone/1-2ct+tw+three-diamond+anniversary+rin g+1598024.do?sortby=ourPicksLet me know please!!! Thanks a bunch!!
Answer:
Unfortunately there is such a markup on jewelry, that it is probably worth 2/3 what was paid for it. You may get a better price on line than at a jewelers or pawn shop.Sorry, wish I had better news. It is lovely, and too bad it has lost its sentimental value to you.

Question : Engagement rings!! Which one do you like better?
We've narrowed it down to these three. I'm just interested in getting some outside opinions :)1. http://www.kesslersdiamonds.com/jewelry/engagement-rings/without-center-diamond/details/2024/8/engag ement-rings/without-center-diamond/bgrd25031.html2. http://www.kesslersdiamonds.com/jewelry/engagement-rings/without-center-diamond/details/2723/8/engag ement-rings/without-center-diamond/bgno08583.html3. http://www.kesslersdiamonds.com/jewelry/engagement-rings/with-center-diamond/details/1127/7/engageme nt-rings/with-center-diamond/bmrd11288.htmlFor the settings without a center stone, we have a 0.51 karat princess cut diamond picked out...it's gorgeous :)I know in the end what we like is all that matters, but I just would like to see other people's opinions as well...if you could rate them 1-3 with your favorite first & any reasons that'd be great. Thanks much! :)
Answer:
I like the first one the best. Then the second one, less so than the first because I prefer stones to carvings. Then the last one, which I think would be difficult to match with a wedding band.

Question : do you like this ring?
http://www.overstock.com/Jewelry-Watches/14kt-White-Gold-1ct-TDW-Round-Diamond-Three-Stone-Ring-H-I- J-I2-I3/1730975/product.htmli am going to propose to my ex in europe since we had sex before she left and said to keep in touch.... i havent been the same she she called our 3 year relationship off so im just goingto do what i feel
Answer:
No i don't like the holes on the side. The color and clarity are not that great in the ring you chose and you will see inclusions. This one is a bit better in color and clarity.http://www.overstock.com/Jewelry-Watches/14k-White-Gold-1ct-TDW-Diamond-Engagement-Ring/1856 191/product.htmlBut, before you spend this money, why don't you get a feel from her to see if she even wants to be with you. Sometimes you men have hard time figuring out what we want or how to read what we are feeling. I wouldn't want you to get your hopes up and end up dissapointed. Talk to her first without giving her a hint that you are thinking marriage and see what she says.GL

Question : What color stockings should be worn with black dressy pants and white shoes?
The occasion is a late afternoon outdoor wedding at a country club. The outfit is a pants suit. The pants are crepe with a flowy chiffon overlay (looks like a long skirt when standing.) The top is white with sheer 3/4 sleeves edged in satin. The top also has very thin satin lines giving the effect of large diamond shapes; and every so often there is a cluster of glitter no bigger than a medium pen point at the vertices. The shoes are a pearl white as is the purse. Jewelry: a diamond tennis bracelet, ring, three-stone curvy pendant, and matching earrings.
Answer:
Definitely DO NOT wear white shoes with black pants! Either go with a black shoe or a metallic shoe (possibly silver to coordinate with the glitter in your top). As for the stockings, either go with a sheer or nude color, or wear none at all.

Question : Do three-stone diamond rings hold their value?
My soon to be fiance is shopping for my engagement ring. He actually knows the EXACT ring that I fell in love with...thus telling me I have made his job easy now. However, he has gone to many jewelry stores today and they all told him to get me a solitaire as the three stones would not hold their value in the years to come like a solitaire. Is this true? I told my boyfriend that I wasn't worried about how much the ring would be worth in 10 years because I never have any intention on selling it. Can someone knowledgeable of jewelry help me?
