Go to mervyns... My fiance just bought my ring there 2 days ago. It was a $2200 bridal set(band and engagement) and the sale price was around $700. They have 70% off all fine jewelry for the holiday sales. Awesome price. And since I work there I get a discount and i saved up other discounts also. so I had 2 15% off discounts and a 10% off discount and my employee discount was 32% for a week bringing the ring to around $300. It was amazing!!!! I couldnt be happier. 3/4 cttw diamond. I could have gotten 1 cttw but i like the other better! hope this helps

Are there any secrets out there about how to get the best deals on platinum engagement/bridal sets? We don't have the most money but want to get the most bang for our buck.

we got my rings on jewelrytelevision.com they are beautiful and i would never want another ring :) we were skeptical at first because i had only used them for gemstone jewelry...but their diamonds are great (remember that a round diamond cut will have more sparkle and hide inclusions better) they will also do an appraisal for like $50...we didn't get one because he didn't have time and it takes 2 more weeks...but we did get it appraised somewhere else at almost 3x what we paid :) anyways, check them out and good luck!!!

The trade-up option on diamond rings is another nice thing about Zales, and they offer a private line of credit. They will have a permanent clearance section on, and they ALWAYS have storewide sales going on. There is a semi-annual bridal event and it's usually around Valentine's day and late summer. In the next few weeks you'll see the Christmas sale pricing starting to take place. Check back now and then for tax free events, an extra 10% off storewide sales, etc. I work for Peoples, which is a Canadian division of Zales, and our sale went on this past Thursday. If you find something you love and buy it, and it goes on sale after you buy it, you have a 100 day return or exchange policy.

the only way to verify quality is to have it appraised. So buy the jewelery in advance, have it appraised within the return window, that way, if it's not real, you can return it. I've bought stuff (not jewelery) from Overstock and so far so good. Good luck!

my boyfriend n i were looking at rings n came accross some gorgeous bridal sets. we were wondering how these work.... wen he proposes would he just give the engagement ring then on the wedding day (wud i still wear the engagement ring and take it off during the service to ensure the right order of rings) and then keep the final piece for the birth of our first child.....is that right or do ya just get given the whole lot together at some point?

2 of the rings are wedding bands (one for you; one for hubby) and the other ring is an engagement ring. I think that trios are more for when you get engaged without a ring and then buy one...I'm not totally sure, though.
