Question : Engagement rings vs Bridal sets?
What's the difference? And can I use a bridal set to propose?
Answer:
An engagement is usually a single diamond solitaire. A bridal set is when the engagement rings comes with a matching wedding band which I love as it is hard to match up a pretty band with a solitaire. You use the diamond to propose and then during the wedding the bride removes the engagement ring to her right hand and the band goes on first and then she replaces the diamond on top of the band. There are also bridal sets known as enhancers or ring jackets which are a band, the solitaire and then another band to "enhance" the center stone. During the ceremony you would place the first band, then the engagement ring, then the second band.

Some guys do get engagement rings, or bands, but we didn't go with that. Usually, guys don't.A bridal set is when you buy the engagement ring and wedding ring together. Sometimes it'll save you money, but it might not. You just have to look around different jewelers and sales.An engagement ring is purely an engagement ring. You can even look at some websites if you'd like to see the differences. Go through a wedding magazine and look up some of the websites or go to kay.com, jared.com, etc.

I Asked this question a few minutes ago, & all answers were Sort of helpful, But i should have said i was looking for The bridal Sets ( that is The engagement & wedding rings that go together. or a 2 or 3 piece set. together) My Profile pic is something like i had in mind. this is what i wanted.I Don't want Cubic zirconia, Because as nice as they look, My husband tells me they really are not worth it in the long run. we have never had real rings, just the Fake Toy type, Or walmart brand that did not last. i Don't want my finger turning green again ( that happened with the CZ) I am not looking for a high priced ring, just a real one, Possibly no more then say $800 dollars & lower. Im picky about what style I want & it being real, but not picky about the price. it could be $200 & i would be fine, so long as it was real. every fake ring i have owned was either worn with time & broke, or Turned me green. my boyfriend n i were looking at rings n came accross some gorgeous bridal sets. we were wondering how these work.... wen he proposes would he just give the engagement ring then on the wedding day (wud i still wear the engagement ring and take it off during the service to ensure the right order of rings) and then keep the final piece for the birth of our first child.....is that right or do ya just get given the whole lot together at some point?

2 of the rings are wedding bands (one for you; one for hubby) and the other ring is an engagement ring. I think that trios are more for when you get engaged without a ring and then buy one...I'm not totally sure, though.

the only way to verify quality is to have it appraised. So buy the jewelery in advance, have it appraised within the return window, that way, if it's not real, you can return it. I've bought stuff (not jewelery) from Overstock and so far so good. Good luck!

You can pull them apart and they are made to clip together. And they match!Buy the bridal set and give the engagement ring to the woman and then tell her you already have the matching wedding ring for it.An engagement ring is a ring given to propose (1 ring by itself. This is the BLING ring. The one with a big diamond 1-2 cts). A wedding ring is plainer looking. Might have diamonds but wont have any big diamonds like the engagement ring does.A wedding band is the same as wedding ring except a band usually means it doesnt have diamonds. And a wedding band is what they call a man's wedding ring.If you get engaged trust me buy the bridal set. ONLY get a bridal set!My engagement ring was about (without the center diamond in it) 2,000 dollars and then another 2,000 to find a matching wedding ring to go with it. If my stupid (now ex) had bought a bridal set it was only 1,100 for both the wedding ring and the engagement ring (without the center diamond)! He would have saved almost 3,000 dollars if he had bought the set that looked almost exactly like mine.
