Question : What the difference between engagment rings, wedding bands and anniversary rings?
My fiance purchased me a very strong engagement ring and the wedding band we choose we just found out is probably a anniversary ring. It's advertised online as an anniversary ring. In store it isn't labeled as it was next to wedding bands. What's the difference? The two rings compliment each other but I don't want to be tacky. Any suggestions?The engagement ring did not come in a set, so we ended up going back for the wedding band and the sales clerk recommended a band with some diamonds to compliment the diamond encrusted engagement ring. All the wedding sets have rings identical to my wedding band. It's a perfect fit for my engagement ring. We were just confused because online they are called anniversary rings.

Question : thinking about buying promise rings for eachother for anniversary?
mostly considering a simple band and engraving it elsewhere than the jewelers. where can I find good price for men's bands?

Try Pawn Shops. Cheap prices, stuff you won't find anywhere else. My husband found the perfect ring for me for our anniversary, as a replacement for my ring that got stolen. I love the new ring way better that the original one.

I am planning a great 10 wedding anniversary trip without the kids for 5-7 days. (We never got a first honeymoon because of time,money and his family visiting). We lost our wedding rings when we moved from one house to another just over 3 years ago ( jewelry was put into my jewelry box because we were moving boxes and furniture,and the rings came up missing). We would like to design something new for me.. and buy him a plain platinum band that he can wear for occassions when he's not working on aircraft. Any helpful opinions or suggestions would be appreciated.

No real desgning advice, but a big CONGRATULATIONS on your 10 year anniversary!Whatever you do decide for the rings, think about getting them added to your homeowner's insurance policy in the event they get lost!

Question : Is it odd to want an "anniversary" style ring for an engagement ring?
I am more drawn to a band with multiple small diamonds as an engagement ring instead of the traditional styles (ie. Solitaire or Three Stone settings) I like the simplicity of it and price. I would then have a plain white gold band as the wedding ring. But they are generally called Anniversary rings.... does that matter at all? Really I don't care too much I am just wondering how other people felt.

Yes, you can buy an anniversary ring as a wedding ring. Many women do. The way I look at it, "anniversary" is only a suggestion. No one will look at your ring and say, "Oh, that's an anniversary ring." They can serve either purpose.

Hey I have this version of the book and it says it was edited on the back. Does that just mean they fixed the mistakes? Or did they take stuff out that was in the original version of the Lord of the rings books.

No, it is just a way of saying that it was read, compiled and checked by an editor. You'll have the whole book but they probably added something to make it special and to state that it is a special 50th anniversary edition.
