Question : My wedding is in 3 weeks. I have a solitaire diamond ring, maybe somebody can help me?
I need to raise money for my wedding and this is the only way I can think of without borrowing or loaning money. I actually have two rings, one is a gold solitaire engagement ring and the other one is a 3-stone diamong ring. The solitaire ring looks new as I haven't used it too long. I bought it a year ago just for investment.My wedding is in three weeks and hopefully somebody can help me out. Either buy the ring or an advice as to what I can do. I tried pawning it but it was so low. Thank you in advance.Well I bought for myself because I dont need any guy to buy me one. My fiancee gave me one, so I wanna sell my ring. Try ebay and be sure to set a reserve price at the lowest you are willing to sell it for or else you'll have to sell it for what ever the winning bid price is regardless of how low it is.

Question : Where to buy diamond solitaire ring in London and how much would it be?
I need to buy a diamond solitaire ring but don't where to go in London to buy it. I am looking for platinum rings but don't know how much it would cost. Can somebody give me an idea of the cost please? Also, I was going through a website which sells platinum solitaires for around £400 but Tiffany sells it for not less than a couple of thousands. the cost of diamond solitaire ring mainly consisted of : the cost of diamond, but the price for diamonds can be big difference comparing to the clarity/color/cu/carat. for example, you could pay about 1000$ for a solitaire ring with 30 pointers , vvs2, H color. of course the same ring made by Tiffany will be big difference. you have to pay for the big name!i m in china owing one diamond jewlery factory. contact me if u have any questions about it.

Question : Will the channel diamond band match with a solitaire?
My fiancee got me a round diamond band because he didn't know the etiquette of the rings. Now I don't know what type of ring to get with it. Can I still get a 2 carat Solitaire ring with a round channel diamond band to go with a diamond channel band. A jeweler told me that a solitaire must be a bigger size carat from the band in order for it to stand out. HELP!

Go in and try it on. That will make all the difference. You just need to get in there with the rings and play around with it. I was wanting a huge solitaire before my hubby and I first went ring shopping. I had it all planned out a min 1.5 ct princess cut in a cathedral white gold/platinum setting. Totally looked horrible on my hand. In fact, anything big just looked way out of whack. So I ended up with a .75 ct with channel set diamonds all around it and a matching channel set diamond band. It wasn't what I dreamed of... but on my hand it looked more amazing than anything. So lesson... you really have to play around to see what looks best on you!

It works for me. My husband got me a new solitaire ring after 35 years of marriage. I know young people are sometimes just wearing a solitaire for a wedding ring, but I wanted a band to go with it. Several months later, for Valentine's Day, he bought me a channel diamond band to go with it and everyone thinks it looks great.

Question : Are solitaire engagement rings too old fashioned?
Ok so Im going through the process of picking a ring out and most stores Ive been too tell me solitaires aren't popular anymore and that the "In" thing is diamond rings with the lady's birthstone to compliment it. Also these swirly looking designs are in style, sorry but I don't remember what they are actually called. Any advice, thoughts or comments would be great.

No the solitaire engagement ring is a timeless classic. If you think you intended will like it go for it. My husband took me to pick the ring and I chose a white gold diamond solitaire. Simple and beautiful. But that's really up to what you feel your girlfriend will like. Just remember she has to wear it for the rest of her life so you can't just give in to a fleeting fashion that may disappear by next year. Just pick something you know is her style.

I really love the solitaire princess cut diamond rings (white gold and possibly one ct.) but when I get married I need a band to go along with it....would a band with diamonds all around it look alright? Or would it be better to go with a plain white gold band?thanks :)

I have just got engaged and am now looking for my engagement ring. As I am currently in the US, I was wondering whether diamond solitaires are better value here or in the UK (in general, not just taking exchange rate into account)? I am specifically looking for white gold, princess cut up to half a carat.

Is there a comparison shopping site for UK diamond retailers? If so, the easiest way to decide this would be to plug similar specifications into the UK site and http://www.diamondpriceguru.com/ or a similar US diamond search engine. It checks about 10 different US-based retailers, including some I've seen in other answers, like Amazon.com and Mondera and Blue Nile. So, you tell it what you want, even give it a range of clarity grades, color grades, etc., and it shows you all the matches and each retailer's price for it. It's very handy. I just don't know of one specific to UK retailers. One note, the search engines focus on loose diamonds because the prices are better if you buy the diamond and setting apart and have them combined. Pre-set rings carry more of a markup since the retailer knows the shopper won't pull it apart to inspect the diamond grade. I plugged in "princess cut, up to .5 carat" and and 8,463 diamonds were found. You can narrow it down, of course. I narrowed it to color grades J and higher, with clarity grades VVS2 and higher and it found 2,470 matches. Anyway, it's simple to play around with these online tools, and they do the work for you.Happy hunting!
