Editorial Review :
Project radiance and sophistication with this traditional Akoya cultured pearl necklace. Round white A grade Akoya cultured pearls, with a diameter of 6-6.5mm, are individually knotted to form the 18-inch necklace. This classic pearl strand is finished with a fancy filigree clasp made from bright and durable 14 karat yellow gold. Akoya cultured pearls are produced in salt-water mollusks in Japan and China. They were the first type of pearl to be cultured, and remain the most popular and classic choice for pearl strands. Akoya cultured pearls are prized for their smoothness, roundness, and beautiful luster. Though they may look similar to freshwater cultured pearls, when the two are placed side-by-side, the Akoya pearl's superior qualities are clear.

I have a double strand richelieu pearl necklace choker C-1575 . I was wondering if anybody knew how much it was worth. I got it from my mother in law and she said she wasn't sure what year it was from, but it's at least 50 years old. If anybody has any information it would be greatly appreciated, every website I've gone on only shows faux pearls. I want to know the real price, not for the faux ones.thank you

If you can't find it on any website, take it into a jeweller's shop to be appraised.

Question : How much would REAL pearl earrings and a REAL pearl necklace cost?
I have a pair of real pearl earrings, the backs are 14kt gold. I also have a real pearl necklace with probably about 36-40 pearls on the strand, and a 14kt gold clasp. I am trying to sell them for as much as possible. What is a reasonable asking price for this beautiful *AUTHENTIC* jewelry? I have never worn them so they are in perfect condition.
Answer:
It depends on the size of the pearls and length of the necklace. You could sell your necklace for anywhere from $174-$609! And for your pearl earrings, you also could be making another $50 or more on them. Check out this website for more information on pearl necklaces and earrings http://www.pearlnecklacesource.com/

Question : Which Queen wore a massive, multi-string pearl necklace (with choker)? Does anyone have this image/picture?
I have a memory of seeing a picture (photo?) of one of the queens of England (I assume it was a queen of England) that showed her wearing a multi-strand pearl necklace(s) that started as a choker and continued down to cover most of her chest. I think it had a broach in the middle causing the effect to be that of a rounded "w" on her chest. It had to be made up of dozens of strands of pearls but I'm not sure.If anyone has a link to an image of it they can provide and/or knows which queen wore it, I'd be much appreciative.
Answer:
It's probably Queen Elizabeth I you're thinking of; but Queen Alexandra always wore chokers and high necks due to her self-consciousness about a scar. "Princess Alexandra of Denmark (1 December 1844–20 November 1925), later Queen Alexandra, was the Queen Consort of King Edward VII of the United Kingdom."http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Queen_AlexandraHere are some pictures:http://www.specialtyappraisals.com/webpages/images/Queen%20Alexandra.JPGhttp://www2.gol.com /users/hikami/famous%20diamonds/kohAlex.jpghttp://ajhs.schools.sd76.ab.ca/GRAPHICS/SCHOOL/Queen%20Al exandra%20-%20portrait.jpghttp://images.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://www.royalcollection.org.uk /egallery/images/people_large/QAL.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.royalcollection.org.uk/eGallery/collector .asp%3Fcollector%3DQAL&h=279&w=223&sz=8&hl=en&start=8&tbnid=mk4fWtkIW80E0M:&tbnh=114&tbnw=91&prev=/i mages%3Fq%3Dqueen%2Balexandra%26svnum%3D10%26hl%3Den%26lr%3Dhttp://www.globaladjustments.com/gif/jew lry2.jpg
