The cows take up space, they need to be fed (so energy is being used) and they lose energy through growth, excretion, movement, respiration etc.Wheat can be produced in a small area and they don't use up much energy. They are the first trophic level, whereas cows are up higher, and energy lessens as you go up food chains.

Indeed, wheat germ used to get some "press," but those days seem to have passed. Wheat germ is definitely good for you. you're probably looking at the bid price, which is NOT the price that it will sell for. Its just what someone is bidding for it for now. Thats how ebay works, you can look at other items that are expensive but the seller will start it at 99 cents bidding, and put a reserve price that you dont see.
