Only one problem the chain stay has recieved a scary amount of chips from the chain :( so I am looking for a chain stay guard but can only find one for conventional stays. Any ideas would be gratefully appreciated.<br>

          Ah, there's nothing quite like those first paint chips on a new bike. Don't worry too much about it. It happens to us all.On a more positive note, over time those chips become a sign that the bike is used often & is enjoyed by it's owner.Here's two ideas which have I have used on my bike1) Clear book wrap (the stuff that you cover school books with). It easy to come by & can be cut to fit any part of the frame. I've applied some sections, to where any cables might rub against the frame.2) Old bike tubes. It's cheap & they can be cut to fit any shape . Just split the tube, give it a rinse (if there's white powder inside) & wrap it around the chain-stay.To make it more durable (and less obvious), I would cover the tube with some duct-tape in a matching colour to the frame.If you don't have any old bike tubes about the place, just get a cheap tube from your nearest Walmart-type shop. Of course, the chain is not a lump of gold, it is a work of art, a white gold snake chain in this case.  So you pay extra for the art, and the jeweler makes a profit as well.Grandpa
