Questions & Answers
Question : Is there a way to keep a snake chain from getting caught in hair?
Hey, a week ago I gave my girlfriend a nice pendant for our 3 month anniversary. She loves it and has been wearing it ever since but the snake chain it's on keeps getting snagged in her long hair. I know she'll keep wearing it anyway but I'd really like it if it didn't hurt her. Is there any special trick for this? Thanks.

Answer:
The only thing I can think of is for her to wear her hair up, in a pony tail or a bun... something where her hair won't be rubbing across the necklace.

Question : Snake chain; I've got hair wrapped around it. What's the best way to get it off w/o ruining the chain?
Lots of hair wrapped around the clasp area so it looks brutal and it's not really hideable ...

Answer:
Use a bic lighter and gently burn the hair off.

Question : Where can I get chain stay protectors for snake stays?
I have a Muddyfox Carnage 16" frame MTB which I got out of the box on Friday and took it 16 mile off road to put it through it's paces, have to say it's lovely. Only one problem the chain stay has recieved a scary amount of chips from the chain :( so I am looking for a chain stay guard but can only find one for conventional stays. Any ideas would be gratefully appreciated.

Answer:
Ah, there's nothing quite like those first paint chips on a new bike. Don't worry too much about it. It happens to us all.On a more positive note, over time those chips become a sign that the bike is used often & is enjoyed by it's owner. Here's two ideas which have I have used on my bike1) Clear book wrap (the stuff that you cover school books with). It easy to come by & can be cut to fit any part of the frame. I've applied some sections, to where any cables might rub against the frame.2) Old bike tubes. It's cheap & they can be cut to fit any shape . Just split the tube, give it a rinse (if there's white powder inside) & wrap it around the chain-stay.To make it more durable (and less obvious), I would cover the tube with some duct-tape in a matching colour to the frame. If you don't have any old bike tubes about the place, just get a cheap tube from your nearest Walmart-type shop. Happy riding

Question : How much would an 18" white gold snake chain (without pendant) cost if its about approx 4.5 grams? ?
Just want to know if I got a good deal :P

Answer:
Depends on the purity if the white gold. I will assume it 75% gold, or 18K.The gold in an 18k 4.5 gram chain is currently worth about $90.60 US. Of course, the chain is not a lump of gold, it is a work of art, a white gold snake chain in this case. So you pay extra for the art, and the jeweler makes a profit as well.Grandpa

Question : Where can I find snake chain for bondage?
I'm designing a bed to be bondage friendly, in shopping for chain to go with it I really like the way snake chain looks, unfortunately I could only find it for use in jewelry. If you know of any place online that I could find it at that'd be great.

Question : concept of mantel plumes. how did the Hawaiin island chain and snake river plain form and migrate?
are there differences or similarities?

Answer:
They are usually called hotspots, not mantle plumes. The idea is that hotspots are stationary regions in the mantle, independent of mantle circulation and crustal plate movements. The Hawaiian hotspot builds new islands by depositing lava on different places as the Pacific Plate moves. I have never heard of the Snake River Plain. The Yellowstone Caldera is located over another hotspot that changes places as the North American Craton moves.

Question : What does the celtic sea snake chain mean?
I recently got this tattooed around my ankle, but silly me didn't even think to check the meaning until now. I'm more just curious at this point, as I love the design. But anyone that may know anything... please help!

Answer:
A snake eating its own tail is a very old symbol for infinity it was transformed into the "lazy" or sideways eight some time in the first few millennium B.C.

Question : how do you stop your hair from catching around the back of silver chains?
I have long hair and wear a silver snake chain everyday as it has my daughter's fingerprint charm on it, every day I seem to have half a head of hair attatched to it when I take it off!! Any tips for stopping this annoying tangling?? Thankx xxx

Answer:
Perhaps you could try threading the chain through a short length of a transparent drinking straw. Use a straw just a little larger than the thickness of the chain but large enough to cover the clasp of the chain, as I presume this is where your hair is catching on it. You will only need to use a couple of inches of the straw I think. It could be even better just to use the flexible part of a bendy straw as it will sit more comfortably at the back of your neck and still protect your hair. I hope this helps. Good luck.
