Question : How do you install a chain link fence over concrete?
How do you install a chain link fence over concrete? How do you install a chain link fence over dry concrete. I have been looking for some sort of anchors but with no luck. Is there a different way to do it, besides braking the concrete?
Answer:
The only way I can think of may take a little work. Find a piece of pipe a little bigger than the post cut it about 10 inches long weld a plate on the bottom. Then drill a hole through it into the concrete ( I would use a large bolt) anchor that to the concrete set your post in the "cup" and secure it by drilling a couple of holes through the cup and pipe and bolting it in.Good Luck

Question : Can I use some leftover chain link fence to reinforce concrete I will put down for a new driveway?
I know steel is best, but is it ok to use chain link? I think it is some kind of aluminum or stainless steel alloy maybe?
Answer:
Actually that would work well. I once did a job where the homeowner decided to throw his old metal hangers in a sidewalk. I would not like to be the one to tear it out with chain link fence in it but if it was my driveway I would use it.

A free body diagram is a pictorial representation often used by physicists and engineers to analyze the forces acting on a body of interest. A free body diagram shows all forces of all types acting on this body.Each link has a "force arrow" at the top, pointing up; and a "force arrow" of equal magnitude at the bottom, pointing down. Since the bottom link does not move, the force at the top -- pushing the link up, must not be greater than the force at the bottom, pulling the link down. And, in fact, the 2 forces on the "bottom link" are equal: force of gravity = Mg pointing down; tension force on link immediately above = Mg pointing up.Assume mass of each link = M.On the second-from-bottom link, the force pointing down = 2Mg = force of gravity + weight of "bottom link". Therefore, the tension-force on the link immediately above = 2Mg pointing up.Likewise for the 2 remaining links.

Question : Can i make my entire chain link fence electrified by connecting the energizer to a piece of the fence?
I have the electric fence energizer and want to make my chain link electric. Metal is a conductor right don't have to string the whole fence just has to be touching one piece of it. Also can i ground the electric fence with a welding rod. Is this safe or will it like catch on fire?

Yes, you can electrify an entire chain link fence, but it will be expensive to do so because it will take hundreds of insulators. It will also be less effective than a regular electric fence because all of that metal will offer a lot of electrical resistance, effectively reducing the "shocking power" of the fence.

Question : What type of chain link fencing works best for any type of dog?
I personally believe 8 gauge chain link fencing would work best for any type of dog for a temporary amount of time. Any suggestions? This is for building enclosures for an animal rescue whom is limited on money.
Answer:
That would really depend on the dog. For example my pit cross would climb chain link to escape when he was in the pound. When they enclosed him on all sides, he figured out how to trip the latches (they were doubled latched doors).Since I rescued him from the pound, chicken wire is enough of a boundary to contain him.Some dogs will require a heavier gauge than others.If building enclosures I would go with the heaviest gauge possible, that would hold up to the worst of the worst of the breeds being contained.If it's for an all breed rescue, you could save costs by building 2-3 enclosures for the "trouble makers"& then use a lighter guage for rest of the enclosures.

see, i have a shadow conspiracy interlock v2 halflink chain. i tightened it like, tight. its not too tight though. its just tight till the extend that, when i drop my bike, there wont be rattling noises of the chain. is it bad? and will it break easily? its chromoly chains btw. *written at the description

Half-link chains actually break easier than chains such as the Odyssey Bluebird. Also, they stretch out very quickly compared to normal chains.The tighter it is, the more risk you run of losing your face to the ground. Keep it so it has a bit of play. Just so it moves a few millimeters when you press on it.

Question : How do I make my chain link fence taller without replacing the existing one?
We just recently bought a house and the yard had a 3ft high chain link fence in it. We have a Golden Retriever and do not want her to get out, plus part of the fence is damaged from a fallen tree. We are having ALOT of trouble finding 3ft high fencing. So, we were thinking of getting 4ft high, but do not want to remove the existing posts. Is there a way to attach something to extend the height? Thanks!

Get some post extensions that will fit inside the existing posts (or outside) and weld or drill and bolt them to hold them in place.

Question : will a chain link fence work as a transmitter with an electric pet fence system?
we have a fenced in yard but we have a new dog that can jump it. I was wondering if the fence(Chain link) would work the same as a wire that you are supposed to bury.Thi sis for a "Shocker collar" type system.

nope..the fence is galvanized..but if you do..make sure you get the proper signs to hang on the fence...besides..if it does work it wont last but a split second...all wires crossing will produce a huge short
