The name of this Italian gold chain, Figaro, implies music. And the design of this 20-inch necklace--three small square links alternating with one large oval link--certainly dances in the light, as if to a song. Cuts on the top, bottom, and corners of the links create endless angles that reflect light and give the chain its concave shape. The solid 14k gold ensures the necklace’s strength and durability: pure gold is too malleable for jewelry and so is mixed with alloys of silver, copper, and zinc. The clasp is a lobster claw, which is easy to maneuver but also secure.

Question : How much would a 22" 10k Gold Figaro Chain sell for?

Unless the jewelry is antique or highly ornate, pawn shops, and Cash4Gold only buy based on a percentage of the weight (Ever hear the term "worth its weight in gold"?)At current prices gold is selling for $1,626 an ounce. It is most likely in the 12 gram range, which means it is .38 ounces of pure gold. However it is only 10k, which means it is less than half pure gold. So then you are at .19 ounces of pure gold. That means at current market value you have roughly 310 dollars worth of gold. If it is only plated however, the chain is basically considered "costume" jewelry... In that case you would be looking at maybe 50 or 60 dollars if a pawn shop will even take it at all.But then you also have to realize that pawn shops and gold shops have to make a profit. Usually they pay 50-60% of the value of the item. That would mean if it is real gold, you would get roughly 150 dollars for the chain.The cross would need a jeweler appraisal to determine its value. Gem stones range wildly in price based on factors such as size (how many carats) cut, clarity, and "fire" (its "sparkle"). The cross could be anywhere from 25 dollars to 10,000.

If you buy from a good seller (with high ratings) you will get the real thing. China is much cheaper in almost anything. Electronics, Jewellery, etc cause of the cheap man labour. I believe most of them are not fakes if you buy from trustworthy sellers.

I bought a 10k gold Figaro chain I paid a lot for it. Will it ever tarnish throughout the years or will it last for ever because it is gold. However I understand its not 24k that's why I am asking?

no...it will never tarnish. 10k gold has a slightly higher pure gold content than 9k - it has 41.7% pure gold in fact.10k is good for jewellery making as it has other alloys and is very hardwearing which is what you want for a bracelet or necklace. 24k might be very pure - but it does not make the best jewellery because it is too soft.
