Question : What do you call the piece of jewelry that some men wear on dress shirts that replaces a tie?
Every once in a while I will notice a man wearing what looks like a semi-precious stone piece of jewelry at the throat of a dress shirt and would be in place of a tie. The closest thing it comes to would be a bolo except I think it's something that uses a pin or clips to hold it in place. It doesn't have the strings that a bolo has but instead is more like a piece of jewelry.

It's typically called a "broach". I know you've probably heard that before for women, but for men it's the same thing. It's has a pin for your to attached it, it usually jeweled and women wear it in various places whereas men would simply wear it in place of a tie... I would do a search for "mens' broach" and see what you get! Good Luck!

Question : Is it considered tacky to wear masonic jewelry if you're not a mason?
My grandfather was a mason for over 50 years. When he passed away there was an assortment of masonic jewelry left to me, including a couple pins and a beautiful tie clip with the masonic emblem on it. I am not a mason myself but is it tacky to wear this tie clip to a semi formal event? I would like masons opinions espesially! Thank you very much.

If you are not a member, Freemasons do not like it if you wear the jewelry. I had a Great Uncle who was a Mason, and he told me that his pins and other emblems were keepsakes and could be displayed in my home, but not to wear them if I were not a member.

Hi. I play basketball (girls- basketball) well its hard to tie my hair up because i have a 'side fringe' and my hair is basically layered. Does anyone have any tips on tying my hair up ? and i dont think bobby pins or hard clips are allowed ..

There is at least one girl who is out here in the apparently male dominated basketball section.A few options-Depending on your state rules head bands are a easy solution. I know in Florida, where I played all the girls on the team had to have the same color head band and they had to be a certain color. Either the ones you buy in the store or buy a roll of pre wrap. it will cost about 5 bucks. I buy a brand Muller. Its easy-you just unroll a piece then tear it off and tie and you have an instant disposable head band.You are right-bobby pins and hard clips are not allowed. A girl on my team. I attached a picture. She used bobby pins but just kept them out of sight. i LOVE the thick hair clips. headbands. take two bobby pins and part your hair at the top, twist it and pin it there. thats what i do. also i recently started using mouse and hair spray. hair spray is my new bff

Question : What did you do with your wedding/engagement rings when you divorced?
I still have mine and remarried a little over 11 years ago. My husband talks about using the gold in them for his own use which I consider to be a little rude of him. I have a teenage son from my first marriage and would like to have something made out of them for him as there is one good sized diamond and of course the gold. Not enough to make a men's ring but I can add some gold and maybe have a tie clip or tie pin made for him...hopefully he'll have a need for something dressy like that one day LOL What did you do with your rings?

Well I hit some pretty hard times and I pawned my wedding ring. My former husband never really bought me a ring. I already had a diamond ring and he just bought a band and placed the diamond that I already had in it. That should have been the first sign of doom. lolMy kids wouldn't have wanted it anyways, they say it was from a broken marriage and it would just be a memory of the parents break up.

I have short (slightly longer than chin length) dark brown curly hair. I wear my hair straight and curly. Because it's so short I can't put it fully or even half-way up. I need something to do with it involving pins, hair ties, clips, headbands, braids or anything. I just want to do something other than leaving it down. Pictures would be appreciated. Thanks
