Question : does anyone know where i can sell my loose gemstones? i have a large collection of tanzanite and want to sell.
i have a large collection of tanzanite and want to sell. the only place i know of is a pawn shop, but i would prefer someone more reputable. please help. thank you!
Answer:
Check out E-bay. Before you even think of selling, search for gemstones (as if you were going to buy them) and get an idea of what other people are charging, then post yours for sale (using other seller's prices as a guideline for your own, whether you go higher or lower is entirely up to you,) and see if any of them move.Good luck!(You could also look into other auction sites, like overstock.com and if you take the time, you may even find an on line auction site that specializes in jewelry which would greatly improve your chances at a sale.)Again, good luck!

Question : I need a reputable source in New York City to sell some loose gemstones?
I have some loose gemstones, such as an imperial topaz, several tanzanite stones, an imperfect diamond and others that I would like to sell while visiting NYC in April. I also have several jewelry items.
Answer:
do to the diamond district in mid town..its about 46th street and fifth. you'll find dealers there that only deal with one type of gem stones or just a few of the same types. just walk around and ask in different stores and remmber they love to haggle.

Question : where can i go to find someone to buy loose gemstones?
I have a small collection of various loose gemstones that i would like to sell and would like to know where to go to sell them. my collection includes amethyst. lab created alexandrite, tanzanite, emeralds, opal, topaz, ect.
Answer:
A lot depends on whether you're expecting retail or wholesale prices, or something in between. Also, a lot depends on the quality and cut of the stones as well as their size. How about advertising on Craig's List? You might, before you seriously try to sell them, ask a jeweler in the area for an estimate of the value of each, wholesale as well as retail, along with the size and description of the cut of each. You'll want an estimate of the jeweler's charge for the information you need up front. He/she won't do it for free. One major thing to remember is that loose stone, natural or man made, aren't nearly as valuable as set stones. The mountings are frequently what make the stones and the value of same to soar. It would be very helpful to have the info I'm mentioning on the stones before you get seriously involved in trying to sell them.I hope this helps. I made and sold my handcrafted jewelry for a number of years. I wish you luck.

Question : I have a whole bunch of loose gemstones from amethyst, ruby, amertrine, garnet, topaz, chrome diopside, tanzanite?
Opal, mexican fire opal, citrine, etc....... I have four cases of them. How much u think I could get out of it?
Answer:
Cut or uncut? Depends on current market value. If you have the patience you'd probably make more if you made them into you make them into a necklace. those are very popular and you'd be able to get more money by selling them individually instead of in bulk.

Question : Do you know where I can sell loose gemstones (Tanzanite) in the Fort Worth, TX area?
Do you know where I can sell loose gemstones (Tanzanite) in the Fort Worth, TX area?
Answer:
Honestly, craigslist may be your best chance. People are pretty scared of buying a loose gem, especially from someone who doesn't have a reputation in the industry. You might read through the pages on this site. It is more geared for helping people shop for tanzanite, but if you are selling it, it will help you to know as much as you can about what you have:http://www.shopgemstones.com/tanzanite.html
