Question : Help with an pre owned wedding band set!?
My boyfriend bought my engagement ring today. It is a beautiful ring. The lady that owned it before had the diamond guard wraps soldered to the ring, and made into just one band. It cannot be taken apart. My question is what kind of wedding band am I going to get? This is a tough one for us! Sorry, I dont have a picture of it.

Question : I need a really great gift for my boyfriend! 1 year anniversary!!?
Okaay, so I have a lot of holidays coming up with my boyfriend in the next few months. November: Boyfriend's 18th BirthdayDecember: ChristmasJanuary: 1 year anniversary!!February: Valentine's DayFor his birthday, I am getting him a hoodie and I am airbrushing it. He has requested it, so I decided that I'd surprise him with it for his birthday in November, because he can wear it through the winter when it's cold. Question : Boyfriend afraid to move relationship forward?
He & I live together over 1 1/2 years, been together a little over that. Families both ready for engagement. I just want him to show a commitment, IE doing this book we got.And we do love each other.In Aug he he says "when we get married..." and starts talking specifics, must be in a church not outside, etc. He goes all out on details. A month later it's "IF we get married" type convos about jobs and changes etc. again. I get upset b/c he's backpeddaling.He says i'm pressuring him, but i'm not even bringing it up, he is! so then HE says we should do one of those pre-engagement couples books together and tells me to buy them. i do, and we set a date to go over the chptr 1. 2 weeks later he still hasn't opened it and tells me today that he feels like im pressuring him to read it b/c i'll want a ring after we finish, again i never said it (and it's not true)! someone please help me understand what is going on, i'm lost and he won't explain

Trust me sweetie, if a man doesn't propose within a year, he's not going to UNLESS you pressure him into it and then he will feel trapped forever, this guy needs too much time to get through things. I had five brothers and six proposals of my own, I know from where I speak, guys can't be pushed into something they don't want. Either you and your families let the idea go and be happy with what he's giving you or move on. A guy that has to wait that long is looking for other options before he seals the deal with you. The man I am married to now said he would never ever get married and didn't for 37 years and four months after our first date he proposed, when its the right one its the right one. One year tops is all it took any of my brothers and they never wanted to get married either but they waited and found all the right ones. Sorry honey, he's still looking

Question : My boyfriend says he wants to get married but refuses to propose...?
We've been living together for about 4 years. He used to tell me he "doesn't" believe in marriage. Now he claims he's ready and wants to marry me though still doesn't believe in marriage. He claims he wants to do it to make me happy and give me the things I want. Now the kicker. It's hard enough to consider marrying someone who doesn't believe in marriage but he also refuses to propose or make any sort of official engagement. He has a great deal more money than I do and it seems all he is concerned with in a pre-nup agreement that will keep me from getting anything should we divorce. This is all far from romantic and loving and I'm just not sure what to do. I mean even if I "demand" he proposes how much could it possibly mean to me at that point? I'm open to any advise on the matter. Sometimes I feel like I should turn tail and run and never look back. The problem is I am in love with him and do want to spend my life with him. But the way things have gone I have a feeling come the "big day" I'm just going to start crying and run off. It's like none of this is about love for him. He wanted to talk about a pre-nup before we ever got engaged, he has refused to propose, there's no official engagement, he's set up appointments to work on a pre-nup, I have no ring. We plan to do this rather quickly as it's been a long time coming but where's the love? It's this supposed to be about the girl and love? My heart feels crushed and I don't know how else to talk to him about it since he's been very clear that he will no propose and doesn't believe in marriage. We both know we heave different views on things and are trying to come to agreements with them all. Yet I simply can't understand why he can't manage to propose properly.

Question : Concerning attendants at my nontraditional ceremony?
During post-engagement (pre-planning) excitement, I asked a few close friends to stand up in my wedding. I am still excited to have them be involved, but now I don't know what to do!I was having a lot of aisle anxiety (daddy/divorced parent issues) and I've decided to skip the aisle altogether. During the ceremony (at a park), chairs will be set up in a circle, my future husband and I will come in, complete the circle, and get married...How can I honor my close friends, since there will be no aisle? Should I still get bouquets for them? Could there be another, 'special' way for them to enter? Or should I just ask them to do a toast, hold a ring, sign the marriage certificate, etc.? Question : Can I return a custom made engagement ring?
My fiancée and I went to a jeweler my mom recommended to get our engagement rings. I wanted a princess center stone, and princess side stones, with something on the sides to make it different. The jeweler recommended engraving a design on the side and we left feeling really good. We picked out a pre-made band to save on costs. When we picked up the ring finished, I didn't get to pick the center stone setting or pick my diamonds, I was pretty happy with the end result and we paid and left. My setting was higher than I really wanted and given the choice it would not have been what I picked to hold my diamond. I also noticed after that my side diamonds were not princess but rounds. We discussed doing rounds, but putting prongs in the corners to make the look like princess cut to save on costs, the jeweler even showed us a piece where he had done this before and I agreed it was fine. The center stone was set crooked, which I mentioned to my fiancée while we were there and he didn't agree. But after showing it to some other females, the confirmed it was pretty crooked. About a week after receiving the ring I closed my closet door and my hand didn't move fast enough and I smacked my hand...this comes into play later. When I took the ring back to tell them the center stone was crooked and the side diamonds were not what I asked for they pointed out a small ding in one of the prongs. I assumed this was from the closet. They said they "saw what I was talking about" in regards to the stone be crooked and would fix the setting, as well as the chipped prong (which I got a lecture about taking care of jewelery for) but that I hadn't asked for princess cut side diamonds. I told her (wife) that her husband (the jeweler who we spoke with in regards to the design) showed me a ring, which I pointed out, that had rounds made to look like princess cut and I couldn't possibly know this unless it was discussed. Mind you, her husband was "very busy" and never even came out to talk to us when he is the one that I had the discussion in question with. This was my first inclination that they didn't give a damn about making us happy. But I still needed the setting and prong fixed so I didn't argue further. I picked up my ring a few days later. Again, the diamond was crooked. Noticeably better, but still crooked. At this point, I am fed up and don't want them touching my ring again. I also asked them to quote adding the prongs to the ring as previously discussed and she (wife of the jeweler) told me the round diamonds couldn't be changed for princess cut because of this that and the other. I SPECIFICALLY asked her to quote adding the prongs to give the appearance of the square shape. When I told her again what I wanted she (I imagine) held the phone to her shoulder, turned around and asked her husband and he said it couldn't be done. So now I'm at the point I'll take the ring elsewhere to find out what it will cost to fix the side diamonds and change the stupid setting. I want nothing more to do with these people. I will give them nothing but horrible recommendations and that's the end of it. Until the same prong broke again, less than a week after I received it back! Great workmanship. Oh, and did I mention that shortly after that I noticed another prong broke off. Oh, and the kicker about 5 minutes after I noticed the second prong missing the diamond fell out! We spent 10 minutes in a parking lot after heavy rain looking for my diamond. Luckily it was in the car, but the grey hairs I received from that ordeal is innumerable. Mind you this is 3 months from the day we received the ring until the diamond fell out. I type for a living and after the first prong broke, I take off my ring for any big activities (washing the dogs and swimming.) I tell you this is NOT what I expected when I decided to custom make the ring. And it wasn't even that difficult. I don't want them to fix the ring, they obviously do a horrible job and cannot be trusted. But what recourse do I have? The wrong side diamonds, the constant breaks, a custom made ring with things I didn't pick. They're family owned and operated so there isn't a corporate to complain to. Do I try dealing with them again? They stopped being friendly and helpful once we had problems. Is this a matter the BBB would help with, my understanding is it's pretty much glorified feedback. I'm really sad by all this, wedding planning hasn't caused as much trouble as this ring. I don't even want the thing anymore, I just want to return it to them and take the money spent elsewhere. Any suggestions on recourse after reading my lengthy dilemma?

heres a summary of what i have so far. sorry if it is too long.We sat down, him on the right of the entrance, me on the left and our table directly in front. After ordering the lobster for him and the garden salad for me we hand the tall, skinny, brown haired waitress our menus and begin chatting away. I ask him about his day and he, a gentleman, says it has been good and asks about mine. People look at us as though we are 10 years older. After 15 minutes of talking the country club Westwood waitress and bus boy return with our food. The garden salad and water are placed in front of me while the lobster and ginger ale are placed in front of my irresistible, rich, gentleman boyfriend Daniel Russell Lexington. He placed his hand on my stretched out right hand and my left hand started to fidget with the napkin on my lap. He began with my full name “Charlotte Grace Spencer, I know our relationship will come to an end at the last day of high school for us but I will not allow that. I want to make sure that a beautiful girl like you will not go running off with another person so I got this.” He bent down on one knee as people stared and opened a jewelry box “this is a pre-engagement ring it will help us get through our separate colleges and once we graduate in four years I will give the real one.” he fidgeted with his pocket, a cute trait I loved about him, indicating he might have actually proposed. a promise ring says you are committed 100%when my husband gave me my promise ring he took me to the park that we always went to... he sat beside me and told me just what i ment to him and then took out the ring and asked if i would take it as a symbol of all the emotions he was feeling for me. of course i said i wouldi dont think you should have a talk with her parents... you are not joining the family yet... this is a personal kind of thing that you need to share with your girlfriend... you dont need to get down on one kneemake it as personal as you can its a beautiful thinggood luck!
