Perfect size

Simple, beautiful and just the right size

I had been looking for a pair of simple sterling silver hoop earrings, but had been afraid I'd either buy them too big or too small. When I purchased these Sterling Silver Tarnish-Free Polished Tube Hoop Earrings I was hoping they'd be perfect and they were! There are a full inch in diameter, very lightweight because of the tube style, and the clasp secures them firmly so I won't worry about them falling out. The have a very nice shine to them and overall I these were exactly what I've been wanting. Add in the great price and it's a 5 star item for me.

Disappointing color

Garnets are my favorite gemstone. I love them in Victorian jewelry, especially with seed pearls. I wanted a pair of garnet earrings to add variety to my teaching wardrobe, and I wanted them to be cheap so I wouldn't be upset if I lost them. (I lost my last pair.) For the price I paid (86% off), I wasn't expecting fabulous jewelry, but then garnets aren't expensive anyway.

Well, the photo of these is pretty misleading. The pair I received has a reddish-brownish (almost orange-ish) color, and the stones are very translucent--none of the lush complexity of my other garnets. I don't love them, but they'll suit my purposes. Besides, it's not worth shipping them back.

By the way, the packaging is nice (much nicer than the earrings warrant): a velvet pouch inside a jewelry gift box.

The WORST !

I bought 2 pairs of these 6 months ago . I loved them at first, but they are turning black - It's not tarnish, it's the "plating" that's wearing off - and like dime-store earrings, they're not sterling silver under the plating. I'm going to call and try to return them, but hopefully you will all save yourself the hassle...

My wife was skeptical about getting silver earrings since if they tarnish she gets an infection in her ear. This one has not tarnished so it gets a good rating. However, it is a little bigger than we had anticipated, so I cannot give it a top mark.

I bought these at Christmas time (for myself) and they match everything. Plus, they're a great pair from day to evening. I went overseas on a trip with my cousin and she fell in love with them so I just sent her a pair as a surprise. Question : How do I prevent my earrings from making my holes long?
I love dangly earrings which happen to be heavy making my holes look long after I remove them. They're suppose to look like tiny holes, not vertical lines, right? How long until they become tiny holes if I wear lighter earrings?

theres not to much of a way , try geting light weght dangly onesand if you want realy realy long angly ones get clip on ones wont make your holes bigger plus if your gunna wear old onesyouve already got try not to wear them for to long in the day and if you wear them only wear the type that make your whole big 1 - 4 timesa week for the rest give them a break with a nice small pair ofstuds or even no earinggss but lots of shops sell lightweight ones aswell so good luckk

Question : How do I make my own earrings with normal everyday supplies?
I don't really want to buy the pre-made earrings hooks from a jewellery store , and I was wondering would paper clips work as the earring hook?

How to make your own ear wires:-acquire some 20g sterling wire (or gold, or gold filled, whatever you like). You should be able to do it with a foot, but get some extra, just in case. This will be the hardest object to find. Check someplace like Michael's or a bead store.-acquire some round nose pliers (available at Wal-Mart and most craft stores).-Make a small loop at the end of the wire with the pliers. Then, wrap the remaining wire around something small and round (I've found a mechanical BIC pencil to be a good size). Once you're about 3/4 of the way around, make a small bend outward. Cut the wire at a point past this bend--how far depends on how big you want your hooks (I'd say 3/8 of an inch to 1/2. Just eyeball it.)

If you are getting piercings in your ears, you can usually choose from several different earrings, some of which are those boring little fake gemstone ones, but that depends on where you go to get your earlobes pierced. Of course, you can always take the earrings out and put in different ones, but only after your earholes have then completed growing and won't start to bleed or get infected. You can always go buy your own pair, but they have to be thicker, for the first time piercing. Afterward, you can't wear them anymore, so don't bother about anything expensive or really special.

Question : What causes earrings to turn your ears black?
My husband bought me a necklace and earrings set for Christmas so I put the earrings in and I pretty much forgot about them for months and left them in 24/7. I thought they were sterling silver but on a closer inspection, they are cheap. Now the holes in my ears have black stuff in them. I know it will go away after a few days but it's gross and makes me wonder why those earrings did that to my ears.

its either a.) an allergic reaction or b.) cheap metal in the earring. Don't wear that earring for a couple of days and it should go away. if you wanna put in back in then go ahead but you'll just have the same problem a couple days later. Some thing about a chemical reaction with the metal and the stuff in your ear (blood, pus, cartilage, etc.) that makes it turn black or green.
