Question : Why aren't ankle bracelets more poular than they are in the western world?
Every woman I know owns at least one bracelet or necklace, usually they own many, so why are anklets so rare in comparison? I have a large collection myself and I always wear one or sometimes two round each ankle, but I have only seen a very small number of other women do this. A lot of women will wear more than one arm bracelet, so why not ankle bracelets as well? I also occasionally wear a slender gold bangle round my ankle, but I've only ever seen two other women do this, why is that? I think anklets look very feminine and sexy as long as they're not over done.

ithink this is because years ago you were classed as a prostitute if you wore an ankle bracelet... stupid i know ...but its still lingering with other things that passed from...olden days when people were " prim and proper" and the class status was important... but its gradually phasing out and so it should .... some things take longer than others tho ... but wear yours and enjoy they do look really pretty ....

I'm not gay, but I do have a feminine side and I enjoy an M&P, wearing toe rings and ankle bracelets. No one seems to notice when I wear flip flops. I really do not see any thing wrong with it.

Don't listen to the other people answering this question...they are being rude. If I saw a guy wearing an ankle braclet (toe rings may be questionable..but they could look cool too i guess) i wouldn't think he was gay. Whenever I see guys wearing accessories like that, I don't think 'gay', for some reason i think 'surfer boy.' I don't have a clue why I do...but its connected with that for some reason. You shouldn't have to ask if its okay for you to wear something. If you want to wear something, wear it. Screw what everyone else thinks. :)

If you wanna wear more than one maybe 3 is the best number.Wear them so that they overlap each other too and have them look different e.g. one is made of leather, another is made of cotton, the third is a plastic type etc.

And yet, our government had to place an ankle bracelet and enforce house arrest on people like Martha Stewart. Why don't they make examples out of the crud like child molesters and abusers?

There is some monitoring in most states for sex offenders. I have listed a website that is worth looking at. You type in your address and it shows you where the listed sex offenders are. It gives you pictures of the offender and information about the type of crime. You should check it out.I do agree that something more should be done about this!

All major stores have them (Target, Walmart, etc.). Any store that sells earrings and accessories has them too.The best thing to do is to make your own. Buy some twine or hemp and some beads at a craft store and make something original for yourself. It will look better than anything you buy in a store because you created it. You will also want to show it off to your friends more.Hemp anklets with beads look great in the summer and go with shorts, jeans, and just about anything else casual. I think gold and silver look too dressy for the summertime.My girlfriend made me and her matching hemp anklets last summer. She tied it around my left foot. I thought it looked good on my foot when I wore cargos or jean shorts. It compliments flip flops and looks really hot if you are just walking around barefoot like we did at the beach.
