Question : How do i know if these cuff links are gold or not?
I am about to sell these cuff links that I had since I was a kid on ebay and I'm not sure if they are real gold or not. There is an inscription on them but I can't see what it says. How do I know if these cuff links are gold, gold plated, or just fake? What would the inscription say if they are real, plated, or fake?

I am thinking of purchasing cuff links for my fiance but need to buy a shirt to go with them. I know what kind and size of regular collared shirts he wears for work, but not sure what the kind of shirt is called that has the holes open for links. Is it just called a dress shirt? or something else? Help!

Question : Can you change a dress shirt to allow it to use cuff links?
I bought a dress shirt (1mx) from express and it comes with two holes and two buttons on each sleeve. Is it possible to take out the button so that I can use cuff links? what are the possibles damages?thanks

cuff links require and extra fold of fabric. you can't do it yourself if you want it to look right, but a tailor can do it in half and hour.i guess you could put a hole where the button is and use cuff links but then you won't have that classic cuff-fold and it might be too tight around your wrist to be comfortable. I wouldn't recommend doing it yourself.A tailor can also help you get a much better fit and give you some cuffs. They may need to be in white instead of the same color becuase it takes so much more fabric.

I stumbled across an old pair of cuff links that my ex girlfriend bought me for my high school graduation. I have no clue where she got them and have no use for them anymore. Where's a good place to find out what they're worth so I can maybe sell them on Ebay?

Take them to a jeweler and he will tell you if they are worth anything, for a fee.If they have no precious jewels or insignia of anything rare or famous and they are not gold or platinum then the only thing to do is carry them around at a flea market and listen to the old timers opinions.

Question : Should cuff links be looser than regular buttons?
When I put cuff links in my shirt instead of using the regular buttons, it seems like I can fit another wrist in the sleeves. Is that how it should be?

Unfortunately yes. Cuff links are from the yesteryear when fit wasn't the greatest priority.
