A Nice Piece.

This is a nice necklace which any fan of PotC would be happy to own.
I also own the Pirates Pewter Medallion by Drifting Dragon products so I had a chance to compare them side by side.
Both are comparable in size, about 1 1/2" in diameter, though the Pewter medallion is very slightly larger.
Both have a nice weight to the medallion but the Pewter coin is again slightly heavier.
The difference is in the finish of the pieces, MR has a golden finish throughout the whole piece whereas the Pewter medallion has an antiqued finish giving it an "older" look allowing the design to show more dramatically (in my opinion)
The MR medallion comes on a 22" chain like the one worn by Elizabeth Swan in the first PotC movie. The Pewter medallion comes on a 30" black string.
I plan on wearing my pieces on a leather jewelry cord so the string or chain wasn't an issue with me.
Some have stated that the chain is..."delicate". It hasn't fallen apart on me...yet (wearing it rather gingerly)
Overall this is a real nice necklace though I must confess I do like the Pewter medallion better because of the antiquing and the price but any PotC fan would be happy to own either one.

Great necklace

This necklace was a lot thicker, heavier, and more substantial feeling than I was expecting. For the money, I was expecting a cheap plastic, aluminum, or pot metal piece of junk. Boy was I wrong! It is a lovely replica.

well i finally got it the shipping was really really quick as far as the item goes iam a huge pirate fan and i have all the rings and other necklaces but this replica looks kind of cheap its really small(the coin)and it looks like plastic and the finishing color looks like copper instead if gold also the necklace is extreamly cheap i switched it to a gold ball link chain i took from my celling fan also the price is rediculus its 10 sumtin but the shipping comes up to 20 $ and my friend bought a much realistic one and larger coin for 20 $ at a disney store so its deffinetly not worth buying im pretty disapointed

My brother and sister-in-law just adopted a 2, 3, & 4 year old girl (3 separate children) whose parents had been killed in a terrible home break-in. When can a child safely wear an elasticized bracelet (again made of all NON-TOXIC "beads"?)4. What kind of big bead (like wooden 1" diameter") necklace can I make for a child and what age can they wear it? I applaud what your brother and sister-in-law are doing. They are the kind of people that help change the lives of children in this country especially for taking all 3 girls. Most people wouldn't do that and they should be considered heroes and great role models!Now about your questions:1. About the zipper, if you look at children's clothing like jackets and some tops have zippers on them as early at 0-3 months. So all three girls would be perfectly safe with items that have zippers on them as long as it isn't easily broken off.2. The little pin with the "child lock", as long as there is no way the kid can get the backing off and poke themselves or one of the other kids it should be ok. I would say that the 2 and 3 year olds probably can't get the backing off, the 4 year old I'm not sure so you'd really just have to check and see if she can get it off or not. So it would just depend on the girl.3. I remember when I was little, 3-4 years old, having a big elastic bracelet. Actually I think I had like 30. But the as long the beads aren't a choking hazard than it should be safe for all three girls. Just don't have the little itty-bitty beads and try to reinforce the elastic string the beads are on that way if one string breaks there is at least one other string that will not only keep the bracelet together but also keep the beads together.4. The kind of necklace to make would depend on the child. Find out what each girl's favorite color is and make them a necklace based on their favorite color that way 1) it's personalize and they'll feel a little more special and 2) that way they can't fight over the necklaces they'll have their own. Any necklace is not completely "safe", not even the necklaces that you and I wear. So really just make them large enough wear they can slip over the child's head without the child having to "wiggle" a little bit. That way if they get it caught on something there won't be a problem with the child or parent getting her head out of the necklace. For example: if the child's head is say 14" make her a necklace that is 20". You could also go to Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Target, or whatever store is near by and look through the girls dress-up sets. That could also give you some ideas on how to make the jewelry.I hope that I was of some kind of help. And again I applaud you and especially your brother and sister-in-law. I had this cute cute cow neclace which I wore all the time. During the week I was off during hurricane Katrina, I went to my cousin's house to visit some of my New Orleans relatives who were staying there. My neclace clasp broke and I lost my favorite neclace. We looked, but I never did find it. About a month ago, we had a family reunion at my house... low and behold, that same cousin was wearing my neclace. I told her it was mine, and asked for it back.
