Questions & Answers
Question : Where can I find photos of the Jewelry worn in "Real Housewives of Orange County"?
Especially season 5, they all have really nice stuff on. But you can't really see it too well in the show, I want to find up close pictures of the pieces they wear, especially the necklace Alex's husband gave to her with her children's initials.I'm trying to design a necklace for myself and need some ideas.
Answer:
Seriously, those women love love LOVE to tell where they bought their jewlery . Just write into the show. Also read the bravo real housewives of orange county website and it'll be mentioned in their blog. Then you can go on the jewelry website and enlarge it.

Question : How old does a little girl have to be to wear "jewelry" safely?
My brother and sister-in-law just adopted a 2, 3, & 4 year old girl (3 separate children) whose parents had been killed in a terrible home break-in. For their privacy, I will not discuss where this happened.Well, the whole community and churches have come together donating, furniture, all kinds of toys, baby/toddler "equipment" and CLOTHING!! Well, that's where my question comes in. I'm a jeweler and artist and want to "dress up" some of the outfits a bit. I've made hats, headbands and hair bows. Now I need to know (I've never had a child if you can't tell!!) the following:(ALL MATERIALS ARE NON-TOXIC)1. When can a child safely have a zipper pull put on her jacket (to be soldered on)?2. When can a child safely wear a little pin to wear on a dress that has a special pin on the back which has a "child lock?" [It's so safe, I couldn't get it off!!]3. When can a child safely wear an elasticized bracelet (again made of all NON-TOXIC "beads"?)4. What kind of big bead (like wooden 1" diameter") necklace can I make for a child and what age can they wear it? Can you think of a "safe" way of making it so it's "easy release?"IF ANYONE HAS ANY SAFETY TIPS for children's jewelry, I'd be so appreciative. These little ones (especially the 4 year-old who has a bit of a grasp of what exactly happened and unfortunately saw part of the death scene) have been through a lot and they have a lot to go through. (So do the parents!) But anything we can do to brighten their lives a little bit will go a long way in helping their healing - at least that is what the 2 child psychologists and one child psychiatrist have said.Thank you for your thoughts. I'm sure to many of you, this is common sense, but if you've never raised a child, it's simply not so "common" to me.Please keep this newly-composed family in your thoughts (and all of us who are trying to offer well-meaning help).Barb
Answer:
I applaud what your brother and sister-in-law are doing. They are the kind of people that help change the lives of children in this country especially for taking all 3 girls. Most people wouldn't do that and they should be considered heroes and great role models! Now about your questions:1. About the zipper, if you look at children's clothing like jackets and some tops have zippers on them as early at 0-3 months. So all three girls would be perfectly safe with items that have zippers on them as long as it isn't easily broken off.2. The little pin with the "child lock", as long as there is no way the kid can get the backing off and poke themselves or one of the other kids it should be ok. I would say that the 2 and 3 year olds probably can't get the backing off, the 4 year old I'm not sure so you'd really just have to check and see if she can get it off or not. So it would just depend on the girl.3. I remember when I was little, 3-4 years old, having a big elastic bracelet. Actually I think I had like 30. But the as long the beads aren't a choking hazard than it should be safe for all three girls. Just don't have the little itty-bitty beads and try to reinforce the elastic string the beads are on that way if one string breaks there is at least one other string that will not only keep the bracelet together but also keep the beads together.4. The kind of necklace to make would depend on the child. Find out what each girl's favorite color is and make them a necklace based on their favorite color that way 1) it's personalize and they'll feel a little more special and 2) that way they can't fight over the necklaces they'll have their own. Any necklace is not completely "safe", not even the necklaces that you and I wear. So really just make them large enough wear they can slip over the child's head without the child having to "wiggle" a little bit. That way if they get it caught on something there won't be a problem with the child or parent getting her head out of the necklace. For example: if the child's head is say 14" make her a necklace that is 20". You could also go to Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Target, or whatever store is near by and look through the girls dress-up sets. That could also give you some ideas on how to make the jewelry.I hope that I was of some kind of help. And again I applaud you and especially your brother and sister-in-law. You guys are absolutely amazing. God bless all of you!

Question : who has broken jewelry that they could give me for child disease research? or any jewelry you dont want even?
i make new jewelry out of old, sell it, then i give the money to the children's hospital to help fund research of childhood diseases. it is a very good cause and it also keeps me busy. i can pay for shipping costs, but i don't have much of a budget to buy your items. depending on what and how much you have. i could compensate a little.I APPRECIATE THE OFFERS, BUT I WOULD RATHER NOT SHOW MY ADDRESS TO EVERYONE. MY EMAIL IS FYMP@MAIL.COM. IF YOU WANT TO GIVE, CONTACT ME THERE PLEASE. THANK YOU
Answer:
Sorry, that would mean that I would have to divulge personal information and all that. Though if what you say is true, it is a worthy cause, but why don't you try bvuying at second hand stores and flea markets instead of asking perfect strangers.

Question : Children's Jewelry?
I had this cute cute cow neclace which I wore all the time. During the week I was off during hurricane Katrina, I went to my cousin's house to visit some of my New Orleans relatives who were staying there. My neclace clasp broke and I lost my favorite neclace. We looked, but I never did find it. About a month ago, we had a family reunion at my house... low and behold, that same cousin was wearing my neclace. I told her it was mine, and asked for it back. Well, ofcourse, she has no idea what I'm talking about. This girl is kind of the bad egg in our family. A little trashy, and very much an attention seeker. I wasn't even going to try and argue this one with her. When I recieved this neclace, it came with a matching pair of earings. I believe it was children's jewelry, but I'm not sure. I assume it would be...In short, where can I find this set of cow jewelry? Or a cute set similar? She got it from T.J.Maxx 4 years ago... Not only do they have the most random stuff ever, but they most certainly would not carry that anymore.
Answer:
Ask the person who gave it to you if you can.
