I'm a vegetarian, and I'm against the creutly of animals. Lately I've been wondering, though, what happens to the animals we save? I hear people say that animals were meant to be eaten. And I can't find a reason why else to keep them on Earth, except to have a happy free life, which we ALL deserve to have - humans AND animals.What do you think? Can someone inform me?

Well, unless you physically took the animal home with you or to a safe haven shelter, it is still actually killed. The "vegetarians saves animals" is just a theoretical value.and mostly symbolic. The number of animals killed divided by the number of people then multiplied by the number of vegetarians. But in reality, no animal is spared because a vegetarian exists. Symbolic because it signifies the concept that the individual vegetarian does not and no longer contributes to the animal food industry. But don't stop because it may not be having an impact. You are doing what you think is right and that's what counts

All animals potentially are approvable, except for species protected by the government.The general rule is that the closer the animal is to human, the harder it is to approve studies on it. However, if the possible results outweigh the risks, it can happen.Take chimpanzees. Humanity's closest relatives. Naturally, they're the hardest non-endangered animal to get approval on, but a few years back, a test was done where they lesioned parts of their brains to induce mental retardation. Sure, it's a bit freaky they were doing this, especially to what is essentially a tiny, hairy human, but the purpose of the test was to discover which medications can help with mental retardation. A possible treatment for mental retardation was a large benefit that outweighed the fact that they were generating retarted monkeys.

I don't know where these folks are coming up with two "pair" and seven "pair" at.Clean animals were those that God said were good to eat. Unclean were those that they were not to eat.I might also add, there were not that many animals on the ark. Keeping in mind that most of the larger animals were "unclean", there would have only been two of them. Also, there were not two of every different "breeds" of animals, only different "species".This means that there were only two horses, not two of every type of horse. There were only two dogs, not two of every type of dogs.

Question : Why police always kill animals that escape from any zoo in US instead of shot a tranquilizing?
Is not the animal's fault. The zoo move the animals from their enviroment and if the animal try to escape and hurt people then the only solution is kill the poor animal?

"Cos we aren't supplied with tranquilizing rounds. Shouldn't you be more upset with the zoos for letting the animals escape (or perhaps holdign them in the first place), not having an effective gameplan and having to call us poor saps to fix things.

Question : How long do animals stay at the shelter before they kill them?
I am going to get an older cat from the shelter. While I was there i saw a few animals that have been there for a few months and I was told they don't have much time left. Does that mean they kill them? How long is an animal at the shelter before they kill them? I do not believe in any killing of animals- i am a veagn- should I boycot the shelter due to the fact they kill animals?

If you want this cat at the shelter, please adopt it. Most people go looking for kittens and the older cats get passed up. That cat will make a good a furry companion. The shelter in the county I live in is high kill and it is so sad. But they only have so much space and so much money. I am a member of the Humane Society and I help where I can, but I am only one of a few in this county. There is high unemployment and under-employment here, and the family pet is on the bottom of the list for attention, especially if there is a cost involved.Instead of boycotting your shelter, see what programs are in place to help the animals. Do they have a volunteer program, or do they have fundraisers you could donate items to or assist with? Does your state have an 'animal friendly' vehicle license plate..part of the fees for those go back to spay/neuter programs. When you have a friend, coworker, family member looking for a new pet, suggest this shelter.Also, there are going to be animals at the shelter that are simply not adoptable, for illnesses, injury, or aggressiveness. It is the most humane thing to euthanize them. To ease your mind, the drug used to euthanize works within seconds of being injected and the pet feels no pain or suffering.Good luck picking your new companion. Purrs to you and kitty.
