Questions & Answers
Question : How come professional tennis players bounce the tennis ball their going to use before they play it?
Why don't they just hold it the tennis ball before they play it?

Answer:
I'm not a professional tennis player, but i do play tennis. The reason I bounce the ball is because it gives me time to clear my mind and concentrate on my serve rather than just standing there. Also, it gives me a feel on how the ball is, like how much air and bounce it has...which gives me a more accurate serve. i prefer to bounce the ball rather than just hit have it in my hand, it's much better! :)

Question : How do you pop a tennis ball off of the ground using your foot and your racket?
I am a definite tennis player, and its always a pain to pick up the balls after tennis practice. I've seen my coach and some other players use their racket and their foot to pop the tennis ball off the ground. Can anyone tell me the basics on how to do this?

Answer:
1. Move ball next to side of foot2. Move leg up, ball will bounce3. hit bouncing ball with racket to increase height4. grab ball with hand, simple as that

Question : What type of tennis shoes should an avid tennis player get?
So far the Nike Air Max Court Ballistec 1.2 shoes are the ones I'm leaning towards. I'm trying to find a decent tennis shoe that is durable/lightweight and no more than $80. I just started playing tennis again so I'm not really sure which shoes are good.

Answer:
any pair of shoes that are light, have a good sole and are comfortable!

Question : How does tennis relate to the second law of motion?
I'm doing a science project on the physics of tennis and I can't find a way to word everything right so I was wondering if someone could explain to me how tennis is related to the second law of motion. Thanks.

Answer:
Well, when you hit the ball, you are applying a force to it which causes the ball to accelerate (F=ma)

Question : TENNIs???????
WHEN DOES tENIS SEASON START

Answer:
The tennis season is a year-round season. The indoor tennis season - for countries that have snowy winter or snowy summer depending in which hemishpere you live in - starts when the temperature gets cooler and end when the snow's gone. The outdoor tennis season starts when the snow melts to when the temperature gets cooler.

Question : How are tennis shoes different from other types of shoes?
I have basketball and cross-trainer shoes, so how much are tennis shoes different and which should I use until I buy tennis shoes (which is hopefully soon)? Thanks!

Answer:
Completely agree with Jeff. Depending on your level, normal shoes, even basketball shoes, will be torn up on clay and hard courts. Tennis shoes, (again, this depends on how tough you play, your level) have extra traction on the soles and padding on ther sides, to specifically increase your side to side moving ability. I remember when I purchased my first pair of tennis shoes. The difference was very evident. I was able to completely stop and dart to the other side of the court with ease. Obviously it all depends on the type, price, of the shoe, but usually a tennis shoe will show good improvement. From the outer shell, everything is usualyl a very hard material, to allow for sliding and constant pressure back and forth from the movements, which allows a good pair of tennis shoes to last between 4-6 months. Nike makes cheap brand shoes, which may suit you. Again, depending on your level, you may not find the nike 60 dollar tennis shoes to be much different than the Adidas, 135+ dollar tennis shoes, with exception to the fact that Nike shoe will lost maybe 2 months while a good pair can last about 5 months.Go online and do some research into shoes, I would suggest checking out tenniswarehouse.com. They have a great selection and you can even see which ones the pros are wearing when they play! Good luck!Daniel

Question : What tennis racquet is best for beginners? And which racquet of all in the world do you like?
I am barely learning tennis, but I am planning on joining a team. I wanted to buy a racquet for beginner, since i am new to tennis, but i do not really know which one. I want to buy one for just beginners, and then buy another one, like really good tennis racquet. So please give me recommendation of a tennis racquet for beginner and for advanced players. Thanks :)

Answer:
If you plan on getting into tennis seriously, which it sounds you are, I would advise starting a small step up from a true beginner's frame.Check out these frames:http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/saleracquets.htmlI would look to stay somewhere between 10.5 and 11 oz in weight, with a slightly head-light balance (even would be fine, too). For head size, stay below 105", but you'll probably want at least 98".This will get you something that won't be too forgiving, which will force you to learn to provide a little extra power on your own. Now, these are still going to be pretty forgiving frames, and are definitely fine for a beginner to use.The other reason to go with one of these is that it should last you a little bit longer as you improve. If you buy a true beginner's frame, you'll probably outgrow it in terms of skill in a very short time.Which racquet do I like best? The ones I'm using :PWell, this is true to an extent. I've been considering a racquet change for some time now, but I need money first. But for the time being, mine are my favorite (they're pretty old-school by now: Prince More Control DB 800's, from almost 8 years ago).

Question : What tennis racquet should I get my girlfriend?
I dont know much about tennis, but I want to get my girlfriend a nice tennis racquet thats light and high performance. What would you recommend? Thanks!

Answer:
Rackets are hard to buy for someone else only because there is a lot of personal preference involved. It'd be really disappointing to buy one and not have her like it.What might be kind of thoughtful and unique is something like this: On tennis-warehouse.com you are allowed to demo rackets. They'll ship them to your house and you ship them back when you are done. Perhaps you can demo a few (might I suggest Head Flexpoint 1, Head Airflow 7, and Prince O3) and also set up a court time at a local club (or pay for a private lesson for her) or take her out yourself to some public courts and hit around with her to try them out. It's always nice to recieve something more than just a gift for a birthday, I would be dumbfounded if my boyfriend did something like this ;)PS - If you don't like the online demo idea a lot of clubs will let you demo rackets at their facility, call around to find out that kind of information.

Question : Tennis ???
I wanna know some important questions about tennis... what is the suitable wieght (in KGs) and tall (in CMs) for tennis player ? what is the avarege age for the tennis player to stop playing and retire? CAN A MAN (me!) WIGHTING 95kg AND 173cm ,AGING 20 YEARS BEGIN PLAYING TENNIS FOR THE FIRST TIME AND BECOME AT LEAST A FAMOUS PLAYER IN HIS SMALL COUNTRY?!!!!!!

Answer:
You can be any size and weight. The key to being good is not necessarily being fast, but being efficient. Being tall helps too, but is not necessary.
