Questions & Answers
Question : How tennis rocket is different for adult and junior?
I want to start playing tennis; mostly for fun and I have order a cheap tennis racket from Wal-Mart ($20) . In the product's details just said Wilson Federer Signature Oversize Tennis Racquet. Is this a kid (junior) rocket? How different are adult and junior tennis rockets?Do I need to change it and get an adult racket?
Answer:
If you are a kid, or even a small adult you can use some of the junior racquets out there, at least til you decide you enjoy tennis enough to invest in a racquet of higher quality. If the racquet is 25 or 26 inches, it won't matter much, especially if you are a beginner. As a matter of fact, having a shorter racquet will make it a little easier to hit the ball if you are a beginner. Good Luck!

Question : How do tennis balls work when drying a down comforter?
I was just reading a question on how to make your down comforter all fluffy again and almost all the answers said that you can put some tennis balls in the dryer to make that happen. So how does that work exactly? Why does this happen? Can you use something else rather than tennis balls? Thank you!Ami
Answer:
The tennis balls bounce around the dryer and keep the comforter from bunching up. This prevents lumps from forming with the feathers and keeps the comforter fluffy.

Question : Tennis ???
I wanna know some important questions about tennis... what is the suitable wieght (in KGs) and tall (in CMs) for tennis player ? what is the avarege age for the tennis player to stop playing and retire? CAN A MAN (me!) WIGHTING 95kg AND 173cm ,AGING 20 YEARS BEGIN PLAYING TENNIS FOR THE FIRST TIME AND BECOME AT LEAST A FAMOUS PLAYER IN HIS SMALL COUNTRY?!!!!!!
Answer:
You can be any size and weight. The key to being good is not necessarily being fast, but being efficient. Being tall helps too, but is not necessary.

Question : What type of tennis shoes should an avid tennis player get?
So far the Nike Air Max Court Ballistec 1.2 shoes are the ones I'm leaning towards. I'm trying to find a decent tennis shoe that is durable/lightweight and no more than $80. I just started playing tennis again so I'm not really sure which shoes are good.
Answer:
any pair of shoes that are light, have a good sole and are comfortable!

Question : What tennis racquet is best for beginners? And which racquet of all in the world do you like?
I am barely learning tennis, but I am planning on joining a team. I wanted to buy a racquet for beginner, since i am new to tennis, but i do not really know which one. I want to buy one for just beginners, and then buy another one, like really good tennis racquet. So please give me recommendation of a tennis racquet for beginner and for advanced players. Thanks :)
Answer:
If you plan on getting into tennis seriously, which it sounds you are, I would advise starting a small step up from a true beginner's frame.Check out these frames:http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/saleracquets.htmlI would look to stay somewhere between 10.5 and 11 oz in weight, with a slightly head-light balance (even would be fine, too). For head size, stay below 105", but you'll probably want at least 98".This will get you something that won't be too forgiving, which will force you to learn to provide a little extra power on your own. Now, these are still going to be pretty forgiving frames, and are definitely fine for a beginner to use.The other reason to go with one of these is that it should last you a little bit longer as you improve. If you buy a true beginner's frame, you'll probably outgrow it in terms of skill in a very short time.Which racquet do I like best? The ones I'm using :PWell, this is true to an extent. I've been considering a racquet change for some time now, but I need money first. But for the time being, mine are my favorite (they're pretty old-school by now: Prince More Control DB 800's, from almost 8 years ago).

Question : How can you train for tennis in the winter when you're unable to actually play tennis because of the snow?
Does anyone have any ideas or tips for how to train/get in shape/stay in shape for tennis during the winter? I can't actually play tennis due to snow and lack of indoor courts, but are there any workout routines that people know of?Thanks! There is no YMCA or indoor courts available- I live in a rural, poor, and very snowy area.
Answer:
Do thing like running up and down stairs. If you have a rope ladder, shuffle through it, run through it, ect. Shovel the area in front of your garage and use the garage door as a backboard. Lift weights. Run if you can. Push ups, sit ups, anything like that. Lunges(reverse). And stretch.

Question : tennis
how do you play tennis....basics...tips...everything...thx!anything you know..okay..well what are the begininer things to know.....MR RUDE!
Answer:
Ok I will give you three basics methods you need to start with before you start playing:1. Well first things first, you will need to know what grip you are comfortable with. There are mainly five grips for your forehand: Eastern, Western, Semi-Western, and Continental. Here's a site that shows you pictures of which part of the racquet you need to grab to use the 5 grips. Remember to click on NEXT and PREVIOUS to see all 5 pictures. Read a bit too.http://tennis.about.com/od/forehandbackhand/ss/fhgripclosewt.htmAnd here are backhand grips:http://tennis.about.com/od/forehandbackhand/ss/bh2gripclosewt.htmhttp://tennis.about.com/od/fo rehandbackhand/ss/bh1gripclosewt.htmPersonally, I use the Western grip, for topspin, while most other players (and pros too) use a semi-western for power. Beginners mainly use Eastern but I recommend you start with Western or Semi-western so you can have a good start in learning the advanced techniques. My coach taught me this grip and didn't even showed me the beginner grip.As for backhand, I use a two-hander and avoid using the one-hander due to the fact that you get more power while generating spin. Use a one-handed backhand when you volley (strike the ball before it bounces when you are near the net) or when you want to slice ( gives the ball backspin which I will show you in a video).2. Your swings. It's hard for me to describe this to you so I will show you videos later on. Basically to generate topspin you will need to start your swing with your hand, holding the racquet, behind you and under your waist. That way when you strike the ball you go from LOW TO HIGH ending the follow through over your shoulder. This will make the racquet brush the ball and give it TOPSPIN. Remember that you strike the ball forward and in front of you.Basically you will get the hang of your swings if you keep striking the ball. You will gain consistency and make less mistakes after a while. It will also feel comfortable for you too :P.Here are the videos I promised you:Djokovic hitting the ball with Western Grip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PbsQ8gZLWyc&feature=related(Note that he ended his swing across the shoulder instead of over-the-shoulder like I told you, That is because he did not want spin in his shots and instead wanted power.)Andy Roddick hitting the ball with somewhere between semi-western and western grip:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V-D32RwsD_w(Note he started his swing not under his waist but behind his head to give more energy to his strike.)Here is a video of the PERFECT two-handed backhand used by Carlos Moya. Memorize his follow through, especially where he starts and ends.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=38f4xlUctxgAs for the slice, here is another video of a perfect baseline slice, remember that your swing changes as you get closer to the net. This is when you should use a one handed backhand for a change and the point of hitting it like this is to instead of giving topspin (brushing from low to high on a ball) you give the opposite, backspin, (brushing from high to low). The backspin keeps the ball from moving forward after it bounces to confuse the opponent and make a dropshot. If you use a western grip for your forehand, it is basically very energy-consuming to slice on your forehand so you should avoid using a forehand slice.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-GzW401yri43. SERVES ARE THE HARDEST PART IN TENNIS!! Mainly due to the fact that you need to be consistent with it (otherwise you lose half your matches :P). It is so important in tennis that I will post videos of a tennis instructor teaching you. The grip you should be using to serve is the Continental grip, which is how you should grip your 2-handed backhand with your right hand. Here's how you need to First Serve (Serve before a match starts). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w0fL0p9ZCIQ&feature=relatedhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZFy99x_fMXc &feature=relatedhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yBwfK2b0Rtg&feature=relatedhttp://www.youtube.com/wat ch?v=trLu5GNUW9E&feature=relatedhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TsRymzn82XU&feature=relatedhttp://www .youtube.com/watch?v=HfFwnqZAf7I&feature=relatedhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M9jyuC1wMF8&feature=r elatedhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sAwER8eztPs&feature=relatedHere is how you should second serve ( serving when you miss you first serve):http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TkAj6MmwxHwhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TkAj6MmwxHwhttp://ww w.youtube.com/watch?v=TgZZhATk8AY&feature=relatedhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mSiIs75QtgM&feature= relatedWhen you get the hang of the serve and get consistent with your swinging. I will gaurantee that your school would be dying to have you into their tennis lineup.
