Question : How do link directories have high pagerank?
I've been running around submitting my site to free search engine directories and I noticed that they all have PR=5 or higher despite the fact that they have so many out-links. And, I don't know of many sites that link back to link directory sites. So I don't get it, how do they have good pagerank? Also, is it even worth my time submitting my site to them? Are they actually going to make any difference in my site's rank?

Answer:
Submitting to directories does not give a direct result. It may takes like 3 to 6 months to have impact on your site.If you link to a directory with page rank 5 but under a category of none page rank that might be the cause your site rank doesn't coming up. Free directory usually offer submission that may take a long time to approve your site submission. Don't be surprise some of the may take up to more than a month to approve and worst case is rejecting your submission.

Question : How do I link fields from Access tables so that a value automatically comes up in another table?
I would like to link a field (primary key) of the parent table (1,2,3) to match the children in the child table. So if Joe Williams has two children, his unique id is 1 and then in the child table his first child is 1a and second child is 1b. The next parent would be 2 etc. And as I add new students can Access automatically link these fields to create the right ID?I've tried everything...THANK YOU!

Answer:
Here's what Access will do automatically, but you have to set it up according to the rules:The child table, while it has its own primary key, must have a field called the foreign key that contains the parent number (forget the 1a, 1b etc, you can list them by birth order using the DOB field which I am assuming is present):So you have a field called ParentNo as primary key in the parent table, and another field called ParentNo in the children table, called the foreign key. Then you link the two tables together in the relationships view by dragging the ParentNo field from the parent table to the ParentNo field in the children table. You should also enforce referential integrity. Then you create a form on table Parent: try autoform for a quick lookThe presence of the relationship will cause a form with a subform to be created: the subform will have a blank record, into which you can insert dataAdding children to these fields will "automatically" fill in the correct parent number for those children in the children table.Hope that helps.

Question : How do I link a web form submit button to link to a different page?
Once the person fills out the form and clicks the submit button, I would like to take that person to a different link. I've already experimented with the onclick="", but so far nothing has succeeded. Also, I have noticed other suggestions involve using the action="", but I plan on having these formed either emailed or have my webhost email them to me. Are there any other suggestions, or am I possibly overlooking something? Thanks.

Answer:
Um yes your overlooking the whole way forms are supposed to work. Let me break it down:1) Validate form with javascript if you can.2) Use forms "action" to send it to a PHP script3) Do validation in PHP. Go back to 1 if validation fails4) PHP has all the form information and its good, send them to the page you want.Steps 3 and 4 will use a function called "header" in the PHP. You can redirect they tell your hearts content if you want. For example - They left something out send they back with header and the proper URL, they passed the PHP check go to a thank you page...You can even redirect by data. Hey the persons a girl go here, boy go here, and so on...

Question : How do I link to a different iTunes library without erasing all of my purchases?
I recently downloaded a film on my itunes library, but when I tryed to put it on my ipod, it said that the ipod was linked to a different library, and in order to link it to my library, it would need to delete over 157 purchases, now i dont have room to store them all on my computer so how do I link back to my library without erasing everything?

Answer:
You can create as many libraries in iTunes as you like by pressing and holding the Shift Key on your Keyboard while you click to open iTunes. However, an iPod is only allowed to be linked to one library at once, and unfortunately there is no way around this.

Question : Can I link a USB audio interface to audio monitors with mono jack leads?
I've just bought a Mackie Tapco Link USB Audio Interface and some M-Audio Studiophile DX4 Active Audio Monitors. The interface has 2 1/4" jack outputs on the back, and the monitors have 2 1/4" audio inputs. Can I use mono leads to link them or will I need stereo cables?

Answer:
You should be fine with mono leads if there is one lead per channel. The combined stereo lead would only be essential if there was a just a single output socket. You will also be fine if you use 2 X stereo leads as the sockets will just read from one of the channels in this case.

Question : Link???????
I have a website that has free online novels on it. But they are links. And recently I found out some of the pages I link to have ads/links that link to the sites that have a listing of their page. They do this to thank sites that list their novels. I just want to know how to create those ad/link box things that people put on.http://amateurnovelist.blogspot.com/ Here is an example of one of the novels I list, scroll down to where it says "thanks" and see those ad boxes. A site that creates them would be helpful.

Answer:
What you see is an example of affiliate marketing, which is a billion dollar industry. Most such links are through one of many affiliate networks, such as Commission Junction (http://www.cj.com ), Linkshare (http://www.linkshare.com ), Shareasale (http://www.shareasale.com ), and the Google Affiliate Network (http://www.connectcommerce.com ).
