Question : Name that book - fantasy series, boy with red sentient stone?
I am searching for the name of a fantasy series I read in my childhood. My memories are hazy, here is what i remember:The protagonist is a young boy with a sentient red stone/jewel.He travels, sometimes involuntarily, between our world and an alternate word where magic exists. The stone is the most sought artifact in that world, so everyone is after him. The stone can be used as a weapon, but demands memories as a price. In one of the first books, the boy is captured in a swamp. He threatens to drop the stone into the swamp if he is not released, He also claims to know a way to destroy the stone by a thought. His bluff fails. One book ends with the boy giving himself up to save his friends. He is taken prisoner by a giant, but can escape by using the stone to travel back to the normal world. In a later book he looses all memories of his home world and is unable to return.Does that sound familiar to anyone?Sorry, "Trinity" by Fiona McIntosh is definitely not the right one. The content does not sound familiar at all, and the first book was published in 2001, far too late. The books must have existed in the nineties or probably eighties
Answer:
I know that "Trinity" by Fiona McIntosh features sentient stones...that was a series of three books, about a boy who had sentient stones and had to find 'the trinity' but didn't know what it was. Then he got crucified and swapped bodies with someone else to survive...ring any bells?

Question : Does drinking frequently help to speed up the metabolism?
I'm starting an alternating fasting diet and someone has warned me that this will really slow down my metabolism....but don't regular drinks keep it going?I know the ideal is to eat 6 small meals per day but in reality - this rarely works for most people as you just end up thinking about food & what you're going to eat all day (ie you become a diet bore).I have 5 stone to lose.Ok thanks. If I exercise more on those days - perhaps weights, it should have a good effect.
Answer:
The water does boost your metabolism, esp cold water. Your body has to burn calories to heat up the cold water, I've read research saying that if you drink cold water before a meal, it will boost your metabolism up to 30%

Question : How many brides choose a diamond ring?
It seems like everyone chooses a diamond ring nowadays. Depending on how you look at it, it could be traditional or cliche. I'm just wondering, statistically, how many couples opt for a diamond ring vs. something else? I'm also interesting in knowing whether who don't go diamond tend to go for an alternate stone vs. a simple band. Anybody know?
Answer:
I chose a diamond engagement ring but a plain band. And I didn't choose it because I was conned into it by marketing or anything like that. I just sincerely like diamonds. But in the end due to life and other circumstances I went with a cubic zirconia and we'll look at replacing it with a diamond when we're more financially secure.

Question : Was there an alternate title to the Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone movie?
I thought that the first book and movie title for the JK Rowling series was Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. However I noticed a movie poster at a local Red Robin Restaurant that looked exactly like the Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone movie poster but instead it said "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone". Was this a huge typo or had there been a change?
Answer:
It was renamed to HP & the Sorceror's Stone for American audiences. The editor felt that American's would be confused by the different usage of certain words in British English.

Question : Philoshopher stone problems?
Hey, my stone currently ran out of power, and now I'm left with a lot of useless iron in the basement that I am unable to turn into gold. Due to a court order, I'm not aloud to repower it traditionally, because it violates people's right to live. Is there an alternate way to recharge these things, or is there pre-harvested souls available for purchase somewhere? Thanks in advance!
Answer:
I think if you check the middle-east version of ebay, the taliban are trying to raise funds by selling the souls of their innocent victims. If cash is no problem, McCain will give you more than enough in return for generous campaign contributions. He's already consumed the 1000 or so he needs to stay alive another four years, and he's got quite a stockpile left.Other than that, check with your HMO. They always have a surplus of innocent souls, and are looking to make a quick dollar.

Question : What means a trail of leafs, one dry one fresh alternating, it ends in a spiral of flowers?
In the center of the spiral was a dead fruit and a white stone
Answer:
Times of trial and times of triumph, the cycles of life and of death, that which has passed has yet to occur, that which will be has already happened. The parts are the same, merely the players change. The beauty of nature, being able to possess the potential to be alive and dead at the same time. Is there perhaps an aspect of yourself that you are trying to ignore? For instance, perhaps you anger easily, learn how to use anger constructively, use it to spur yourself to new heights (passion). Anything can be used for either creation or destruction, it is your choice which way the leaf falls. As for the withered fruit and stone, they are merely possibilities. The fruit which should spring new life from such a beautiful start (the flower) has died. However, by its death, the fruit shall become earth, which will be used to grow new life. The stone which was born of the flame, now crumbles to a pebble. And yet it is white, the colour of possibilities, purity, it is on its way to become something new. Have hope for things are never entirely lost.Good luck!
