I don't display them. I don't see the point, I don't need to show off my stuff for friends and I like things put away in my room. I buy small plastic jewelry bags b/c it keeps them separated, organized and clean.

Question : Make Shift Jewelry Storer / Holder or other ideas?
I'm a younger, early 20's woman, who enjoys fashion and great accessories. Years a go, in my late teens, I received a cute Jewelry box which I still use to this day. It is a foot long in height and width and on the right side its a long open drawer, where you can hang your necklaces, and on the left there are 4 pull out drawers to put your rings/bracelets, etc. The problem is, I enjoy large jewelry, and although this is ideal for my more expensive and finer necklaces and bracelets, it's too small for my bangles and hoop earrings. I would like to be able to just leave them on my table since I just get them and go so much, but I have two cats, one who likes to chew long strings, and another who likes to hide/play with them. Is there some other alternative object I could use? I would like to have them hanging in an unreachable spot for the cats, but for now I don't see that as a possibility. What do you do / can you suggest ? Because I really cannot stand over stuffing that poor small jewelry box.
Answer:
A long time ago I did some costuming. We kept jewelry in a shoe holder. It was the kind you hang on the back of a door and it had a lot of pockets. Later I made myself a largish wooden plaque with cup holders and put my chains on that. I sanded and stained the plaque to be like my furniture, kind of a light pine, and put a couple sawtooth picture hangers on the back. Then I made 3 rows of cup hooks staggering them, and hung it in my dressing room. Now I have one of those jewelry cases that looks like a small piece of furniture. Mine looks like a miniature roll top desk, and it's right inside the front door. An ice tray or egg carton will hold small earrings, rings and pins.

Question : How can I organize my clothing accessories?
Specifically, my scarves, necklaces and purses. I have a purse hanger thing that is basically a 5 ft. long pole that purses hang on. It is okay, but can't hold the smaller bags very well. My bags always lose shape and topple over on the shelf. I have a lot of scarves but they are kind of all over the place. My necklaces are on the longer side and don't really fit in my jewelry box. Any ideas would be great! I am working with a small closet and it is just untidy and out of control.
Answer:
I actually just wrote an article on closet organization, so maybe I can help! :)Scarves: Try a scarf hanger. It hangs in your closet with your other clothes hangers, but it has little holes in it to thread scarves through. Scarf hangers hold about 10 scarves and only take up as much space as a standard clothes hanger. If you can't find one, you can create a makeshift one by loosely tieing your scarves onto a regular clothes hanger. Necklaces: Use a mug tree. A mug tree is a little tabletop stand with short poles sticking out of it that you hang coffee mugs on. You can place a mug tree on your dresser, nightstand or anywhere else you have a little space and hang your necklaces on it. Mug trees work great for long necklaces; they have more room to hang than they do in most jewelry boxes.Purses: I recommend putting stick up metal hooks (command makes some, they hold a ton of weight but don't require nails or anything) on the inside of your closet door. Then hang your purses on the hooks. If you have more purses than will fit on your door, hang the purses that you use the most on the hooks and then store the others in plastic boxes stacked on the floor in your closet (or under the bed). Hope this helps! Check out my article for more closet organization ideas! :)

Question : How do I organize my teenage accessories like my bangles and really long necklaces?
my biggest problem is that my bangles don't like small storage spaces. I have some drawers in my vanity, but I use those to organize my make-up. I have jewelry boxes, but my bracelets don't fit in there. I don't have a little tree, but, like I said, my bangles wouldn't work very well there because they wouldn't fit. cork boards aren't an option, big ole boxes take up too much space, and I tried using a thin bottle and stacking them, but my bracelets that aren't bangles get all tangled up.it's so aggravating!
Answer:
I have a cute little box that I put all my bangles in, but if that wont work you could use a ribbon or one of your long necklaces and loop them onto it then hang them from your closet bar or even a curtain rod or bedpost. I like to use my long necklaces as decor when I'm not wearing them, by draping them around lamps, bed posts, ect.

Answer:
How about some teen wall stickers-they're an inexpensive way to change your room and make it more grown up. Answer:
You really need a box for this sort of thing. A young adult woman deserves a rather substantial jewelry box, not a small one that could break from over-stuffing. http://www.danforthdiamond.com/
