Round and marquise-shaped amethyst stones form bright butterfly wings in this charming sterling silver pendant. The stones are held securely in prong settings and frame a silver centerpiece detailed with polished bead accents. Appointed with a split bale, this pendant slides along an 18-inch sterling silver frozantin chain that fastens in back with a spring ring clasp. Amethyst, the birthstone for February, is a gemstone that has been prized by royalty throughout the ages for its regal purple color.

Questions & Answers
Question : What jewelry do they ususally pierce the tragus with?
When they pierce the tragus, what jewelry do they use? Is it always with a hoop, or could I get it pierced with a diamon stud? I want to get my tragus done but I don't want the hoop, I want the stud. Thanks!
Answer:
Most common jewelry is either a ring or a short bar, or stud as you call it.Whichever jewelry you ultimately want, it's better to heal with a straight or slightly curved bar initially regardless. Your piercer will measure to work out the best bar length for you. You can then put a gem stud on the outer side of the bar, and a flat back on the inside, just like you would for a labret piercing. You might have to buy a smaller bar once the initial swelling has gone to give a snug fit, especially if you use earphones.A tip for fast healing of any cartilage piercing: find a piercer who can do the piercing with a dermal/biopsy punch. This removes the cartilage altogether rather than pushing out on it, and means your piercing should heal in a fraction of the time - perhaps a 3-4 months rather than close to a year. There will also be less pain both during and after the procedure.Note that if you're in Florida (and perhaps certain other places of the world), you have no choice but to have a traditional needle piercing as biopsy punches are regarded as controlled medical tools.

Question : Jewelry??????????????????????????????
are lab created gemstones ok? are they considered cheap? and ive seen many lab created topaz in jewelry stores but i just read that its a lie because they dont make lab topaz and they are fake. can anyone clarify this?
Answer:
Lab Created gemstones are 99.9% identical to the natural gemstone. They are identical in chemical composition and color. Lab gemstones are perfectly fine, some lab gemstones are inexpensive (but not cheap), while some are still very pricey (lab chrysoberyl alexandrite). Having a lab gemstone just allows more people to enjoy a beautiful color gemstone, because they are not rare or mined from the ground. For example, an 8mm Round Natural Blue sapphire would cost thousands, while a lab created is about $10-20 but has just as good if not better color. Many natural gemstones are treated in some way to get the bright color or clarity that they have, some common treated gems are, Swiss or London Blue Topaz, Sapphire, Tanzanite, and many many others. As for the "lab topaz," there is no lab created topaz that has been made. The reason for this is simply that topaz is not rare so they have no reason to create it. Natural topaz can be found in many sizes, and many treatments can be done to alter the color and appearance of the gem. It simply wouldn't be cost effective for them to replicate it to make a lab created topaz. However, there can be a simulated topaz. This simply means that the gemstone has the appearance of topaz, but it lacks similar chemical composition and can be made from anything from glass to quartz or even cubic zirconia. If you're going to buy gemstones or jewelry, always make sure that you are dealing with a company that has been around for a long time and has a great reputation.

Question : What does tarnished jewelry say about your home?
I recently moved to a new place and some jewelry of mine is beginning to look very tarnished and I remember hearing that if your jewelry is tarnishing at a very fast rate there could be a potential problem with your home. Please help! Thanks.
Answer:
If your jewelry is silver, the tarnish on it is the chemical black silver sulphide. This means that there is some sulphur compounds in the air around you. This is normal, in that silver always does get this black deposit which will clean off with silver polish. However, the more sulphur compounds in the air, the quicker the tarnishing. So I ask if you are in an industrial area, or near a factory which could be releasing sulphurous compounds ( such as sulphur dioxide, hydrogen sulphide) via smoke?

Question : How is silver jewelry packed by Amazon and other online companies?
I am planning to purchase silver jewelry online and send it directly to my girlfriend. Does anyone know how the jewelry is packaged? Is it in a nice pouch? Box? Just wrapped in a bubble wrap? I would appreciate any specific answer I can get. Thanks!
Answer:
Depends on the seller through Amazon. It's usually true UPS, so it's in a plastic envelope. Sometimes they'll send it in a cardboard box. You can ask for it to be gift wrapped though. From other companies, it depends if it's a high end jewlery company (like Tiffany & Co.) or a low quality one. You'd be better off receiving the package, and wrapping it yourself to make sure it looks perfect for her. =]If that's not an option, just speak to the seller or e-mail the company before they ship it off.

Question : What kind of jewelry should i buy my girlfirend of two months for christmas?
I have been dating this girls for two months now and I am crazy about her. I want to buy her something nice like jewelry, for christmas. By the time christmas comes we will have been dating for four months. If I get her jewelry, what kind should I get her. i cannot decide between a necklace or a ring. is it too early for a ring? thanks.
Answer:
Well, it may be just a little bit early for a ring, but what's most important is the way you feel about her. I think a necklace would probably be the most appropriate and safest bet at this time. The ring can come later! There's always Valentines Day and her birthday down the road. Good luck!

Question : What jewelry goes with a cream-colored dress?
I've got a formal cream-colored gown I'm planning to wear to a gala event. What kind of jewelry can I wear with it? I think pearls might clash since they're white, but could I do pearl drop earrings since they'll be farther from the dress? Does a gold necklace work? Any other suggestions?
Answer:
white and gold, cream and gold, ivory and gold, they're all beautiful. No pearls. I would definitely go with gold, it's very back in style.

Question : How to wear jewelry to compliment your look?
I have never really worn jewelry and im not sure what to watch for when wearing it. Im almost 25, weird i know but what im asking is How do i know what jewelry goes with what? Mostly im curious about necklaces and earrings and how to know when to wear certain types of them, for example i love the chandelier style. Any advice would be great thanksThanks for all the advice, i really appreciate it. I Like dangling earings because they seem to soften my facial features up a bit. I wound up with my fathers looks somehow.
Answer:
The key is to not have too much at the same time 1) for chandelier earrings do a dainty necklace or go bare neck 2) for a statement necklace(a bold necklace) do small studs3) rings I just wear 3 , if you do a cocktail ring you could wear either a statement necklace or you chandelier earrings 4) huge bangles just do studs and a dainty necklace basically if you showoff one piece mute the rest

Question : What type of jewelry is at the end of a hollow needle?
I was just curious if they put a "special" ring at the end of a hollow needle when they pull it through your skin, or if they just us a regular piece of jewelry. It seems like they'd have to use a piece of jewelry made for first-time piercings to fit on to the needle, or does it not work that way? I'm just curious! All answers are appreciated.I'm thinking specifically of a nose piercing. :)I am also aware that it must be a different metal than that that would be used in a healed piercing. Curious about the making of the jewelry!
Answer:
the most typical one i think is thomas sabo http://www.charmsshopuk.com/

Question : What does being a jewelry designers job entail?
I want to know about like the people that draw up the designs for the jewelry not the people who make it. I wanted to know after you draw up your designs where do you take them? To like a jewelry store? I don't know, I also wanted to know around how much money you make doing that? Thank you.
Answer:
The answer to your question could vary but I will attempt to give you some guidance.Typically, the designers we have worked with are independent (not working for a jewelry company). Many designers choose to operate independently however some work for jewelry manufactures, suppliers, or in some cases directly for the retailer. You would want to have a prototype of your jewerly created by a jeweler and an idea of how to market your jewelry to retailers. If you are interested in designing fine jewelry you may want to visit a JA show (http://www.ja-newyork.com). As far as how much money you will make goes, it would vary depending upon the type of jewelry you are creating, materials, willingness of buyers/licensees, etc.Sincerely, Madison Pearlshttp://www.madisonpearls.com
